  1. You and me have very similar thinking, nice to read, and great pics Doc. Keep the pics coming, especially keen to see the bulldogs you kept. All the very best
  2. I never found pups to have a problem with whole carcasses, they cant choke on a bone if they cant bite it off and swallow it. What I mean is they chew off mouthfuls and swallow. I tie the carcass of whatever it happens to be onto the mesh so its just off ground, you end up with a cleanly stripped skeleton albeit a bit chewed. Big strong healthy pups every time. Or am I still living in the f*****g stone age
  3. I know many who keep red deer on roughly the same sized plot, some a fair bit smaller than yours, they say they make more return than any of their sheep and cows. Can have them as tame as you like too. Im pretty sure that theres a deer farmers association or similar, they probably have all the relevant info on the web that you need to get started. Have you thought about wild boar? I keep cross bred boar on my holding, but planning to get pure once we get the fence done. The fence dosent need to be as big as for deer, licence is a doddle to get, and they make a tidy profit if you make a f
  4. Im down there regular never seen any bother, nice quiet pub, often have a few jars then a cast or two on the river, real peaceful. Oh, just a quick question to the paxo's, how come you dole bums can spend pretty much every waking hour in the pub? The price of beer thesedays Id have spent the ammount you get on a giro in one session ffs, dodgy cnuts.
  5. Hi zena, if you would sell me a trio of weaners some time, I would like to give that cross a try. At what age were they reaching a finished weight? Cheers
  6. erm, cheers, but your not spelling 'site' properly as in web-site..... the way you wrote it is like 'eye sight' hope that helps dude, were all learning
  7. Fatty! How very dare you! My iron age pigs are lean and mean and make good eating! However I do like the duroc/boar cross, and would happily give them a try, are you in the UK?
  8. hahaaha sounds like a fu*king nightmare. I heard 85% of england cant see a proper star lit night because of the street lights, f**k that for a life.
  9. welsh hound blood, terrier blood, its impossible to say mate, those plotts were a mix em up hound breed right? If its un common in the breed it could be from way the fu*k back in the breeds early history, Wherever it came from it sounds great, wish my dogs all had jackets like it. helmet
  10. Nutters the lot of them! haha as an animal species that has eaten meat for millennium, we can safely regard these PETA specimens as 'stuff that would have died off through natural selection back in the day, but now just makes life hell for the rest of us humans' Porn + animal cruelty = a pretty nasty wank, so thats a thumbs down from me Helmet
  11. I used to keep boar myself, yes a licence is required, but easy to get if you have the right fencing up for them. Now im into the iron age pigs, they are wild boar/tamworth cross, very easy too keep, heavy rooters though so need space a plenty. Do you sell weaners or just finishers? And would you breed me some iron age crosses for me to buy as weaners? I will take 6.
  12. Im busy with mine by 12 months, some get into some stuff earlier, some later, i play it by ear see how they look, each and every dog needs its own time to mature and grow the desire to hunt.
  13. Haha world is a strange old place, it makes me mad too [bANNED TEXT] I see daft dogs getting bred for looks/money/show it all makes me feel sorry for the dogs mainly, then angry towards the owners. But like has been said, the working dog world aint in the same crazy world at all, Ive never had bother finding new stock, and never had to pay much, (mainly gifted). We have to put up with it though, it wont go away, working breeds will always find a way to the show bench, and into the peddlers yards, but its up to us to keep our workers fit for the job and any spare pups to go to the right homes f
