  4. good post Old Dog you still come West on the Wednesdays too? or do you stay up Neath way?
  5. Cheers Old Dog, thats the one i remember. Looks a real rugged customer. I think Gareth kept the best one out of that litter!
  6. haha, i bet he was chuffed, good stuff. strong animal that pointer x
  7. sounds like a good day (again) Old Dog. you boys get some sport up there. Was it the pointer X of Gareth's? He has a Bedlington X to though doesn't he?
  8. What you have mentioned there Whin sounds like the ideal dog. You seem to have worked/bred a few too. The picture of Luke that was put up recently, he looked a specimen. The standards you have stated, do you feel they lend themselves to the collie lines you keep? Do you think your Wheaten X could ever be such a dog?
  9. Nice going mate, as usual. Had a stroll myself this morning watching our local hunt. Bit of singing there too.
  10. Chaz still going strong then? Pickaxe's dog?
  11. Another good day Old Dog. Were you down West as usual? Had a stroll out following S Pembs on Sat. Do many follow you lads on foot?
  12. Blacks from a working line will be fiery and not prone to giving in. That's what they were bred to be like. It may settle down but you probably won't be able to trust them not to kick off again.
  13. i got mine this morning. Really well put together, some great pics. Won't look out of place alongside Dig Deep & Little Dogs.
  14. OK if you insist ,i will tel you the storyof how i got it ,i was driving up the m4 to do a masive drug deal in london ,i got as far as reading when the traffic came to a stand still any way i sat in the car for 30+minuits and thought to my self this must be a serious acident so i got out and walked up to see if i could help in any way ,when i got to the front of the traffic ,there was this masive red stag in the middle of the motorway with this 22inch bullx locked jaw to jaw ,i asked this woman stood with here 2 young kids how long have they been like this ,she replyed i found them like
  15. great pics the land of the free, ain't that the truth good on ya
  16. tidy, does it bring back a lot of memories? Like the 2nd pic, white chest & feet. Thanks
  17. yes they looked made for the job, the rough brown one he kept especially. Anyway, keep us posted on your outings, good hunting.
  18. i thought there may be a bit of bull there, they had very strong heads. I should imagine the pointer in them won't hurt their ability to hunt. i am back in S Pembs area. Just knock about with the dogs where & when we can.
  19. That's him, GR. I didn't in the end, they were gettin on a year old and he'd not had time to bring them on as much as he wanted. I had visions of slipping one and never seeing it again! Got a young wheaten x now. You could see they had the makings of good dogs. The one he kept back looked a hell of an animal. Was the sire of the pups a bull x ?
  20. Cheers Old Dog. I had a look at a lurcher (pointer x) that was for sale round there. Turned out the farmer selling it knew a few of my relatives (i am from bit further on) Nice fella, not many round like him now. he said there was a foot pack from Neath way that came down, spoke highly, said was a great day out.
  21. Great thread Old Dog. You obviously live for your hunting. Tell me, do you ever hunt out bit north of Whitland way?
  22. Hi Mate, hope this will be of help. Danny was bred out of a bitch called Misty, but unfortunately the sire died at an early age, and I'm afraid I don't know too much about him. All I do know about him, is that he was owned by a farmer who lived around the corner from Levi Oates. As far as I know K.C. registered as well. I know that the mating of these two dogs, were one of the best lines Levi ever had. Also, Danny became sterile at the age of 6, so if you are looking at a recent pedigree with Danny's name on it, I would suspicious. 2 friends of mine had litter brothers of Danny, 1 was ca
  23. very nice Mal, i've done woodburning pics of terriers in the past myself.
