MTC Viper or Viper Connect. Or save a few pounds and get an MTC Mamba. If it were me the choice would be between a Viper Connect or a Mamba. I have all three and my favourite for hunting and HFT is the Viper Connect. Tim

We get Sparrohawks in the garden here - they go for birds off my feeders. Had to chase one away the other day as he went for a local Woodpecker off a feeder I made. Funny sight seeing me running around in the garden with my arms flailing about! Luckily he flew off. Woodpecker is fine - back today filling his beak! We get both a Male and Female here quite regularly Sometimes they pop by for a few minutes and sit on the bird house surveying the area about 10yards from my window. Other times they hide themselves in amongst the tree branches waiting for prey. Beautiful bird and a privi

Nice work. Head or Heart/Lung shots? I find this time of year they are busy collecting for nests so heads are bobbing about all over the place. Is the hide one of those with a small seat inside? Tim

Zeroing In Help Needed! :)
TimS replied to (g80na1886)'s topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
With Zeroing your magnification does not matter. Zero is zero at any mag. Only when you shoot at a distance other than zero will your mag make a difference as it will increase or decrease the value of a mil-dot for your scope, ie the amount of holdover/under in Mils will change according to the magnification. Find out what your scope is rated at - probably 10x Mil, and use a piece of software called Chairgun or iStrelok on an iPhone to find out what mag works best for your scope/gun/pellet/zero combination -
Zeroing In Help Needed! :)

Hi mate Welcome to the forum. There was a thread on this a few days back which will make interesting reading: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/282500-177-zero-range/ Tim -
Scorpion Pellet Selection?
TimS replied to (g80na1886)'s topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
AA Fields in mine in .22. Pellet on pellet at 45 yds no probs. Get yourself a decent scope and you'll be surgical! Can highly recommend any of the MTC range. I had the Viper on my Scorp and now have a Mamba and Connect. Love em. Tim -
Im with Si on this. makes life so much easier. For me that is zero at 30yds at 10x. Everything from 15-45yds is less than a Mildot spread. Simples.

JSB Heavies and Monsters hit hard too and are accurate and pretty weight consistent.

My New Mct Airwolf Tactical With Hugget Shroud And Silencer
TimS replied to DEAN R's topic in Airgun Hunting
Lovely. Wolf is a great rifle and looks mean in Tactical stock. Even better with a Huggett. Weirauch silencer works just as well, but makes the barrel a couple of inches longer. I have both and they both work well. Got any pics? Need more gun porn! :-) -
Here is my 30degree table from iStrelok
-
Similar for me. Reduce holdover by 1/2 mil at 30 degrees and 1 mil at 50degrees. By 60 degrees I need to reduce by 1.5 mil. Check it with Chairgun or iStrelok to be sure.

Love the rack. My Missus would do her nut if it was in the middle of the kitchen though!

Bought a Deben one at the weekend and it works great. Looks nice too.

Lovely first rifle. My first PCP was a BSA Scorpion. Cracking gun and very accurate. For pellets, mine preferred AA Field Diablo's, but try a few and see how you get on. AA Fields and JSB Exacts seem to be the best IMO and before anyone tells you they are they same - they are not. Similar, but not the same. For AA's and JSB 4.52's I can recommend Uttings. Service is superb. For JSB 4.53's you'll need to go to Intershoot. Have fun! Tim

Nice idea with the red torch. Must try that!

Uttings for me too for odds and sods. Just started using them and service is excellent. Good prices, good website and super delivery system. Also buy a fair bit and all my rifles from Kibworth Shooting Ground. Top blokes! :-) Wouldnt go anywhere else if they sell it. Cheap bits of camo etc are from eBay or my local army surplus. JSB Exacts 4.53's are all from Intershoot. Again, top service and fast delivery. Tim

Nice work. One less Maggie and one less Rat! Lovely MK4 too!
-
Wont make that mistake again!
-
Also depends on the pellet. Some I have found group nicely within 20-30 shots, others have taken a lot more. 4.53 JSB's took around 60 before they started to group. Weird. Tim

That looks so beautiful. Woe betide any vermin that come in range of her! The electronic trigger is very sensitive from the factory, but the stages can be adjusted and pull weight can be increased using the screws. The manual is pretty good in explaining how.

Rabbits and Rats. Some for the shot, some for the pot! Sweet!

Lovely shooting. That feral miss was bloody close! Still...one more out there for the rest of us! Did I see a set of shooting sticks in there? Which ones do you use? Must get some.... The Huggett is a lot quieter than the MK5 silencer, but yours sounds very quiet anyway! My MK5 was never as quiet as that which was why I bought the Huggett. One thing I did learn recently when fitting the Huggett is that the MK4 has metric allen keys all around, apart from the shroud, which is a 1/16th, so if you ever come to fit the Huggett, you'll need to get yourself a 1/16th key. 3x or 4x at night 10x during the day. If you are only target shooting, I love high power scopes, however if you want to hunt, get used to lower magnifications as it increases your field of view and flattens out your trajectory over hunting ranges. Check your trajectory and holdover at the magnification you want to use on Chairgun and get practising! Tim
