  1. Thanks for the replies. I have been shooting at a local clay shooting club but I haven't been for a while. When I was there I was using over and indeed but I'm not sure what make or size. All I can say is that I wasn't very comfortable and I wasn't hitting many. In the summer I like to go to a lot o game fairs and I always have a go on the clay shoot and I always use the side be side, using this type I am a much better shot and feel more comfortable so that is why I'm edging towards a side by side. I just thought I would try and get the advice of more experienced folk before I go ahead. Again,
  2. Hi all, I'm going to put in for my shotgun cert soon. I will just be using the gun for pidgeon shooting and a bit of clay as well. The thing is, I don't really know with what gun to start with so I would like a bit of feedback on what gun to begin with. I prefer the side by side 12 gauge, as I have shit them before and found I liked them. I wouldn't know what make of gun to get to start with, so please, any advice would be much appreciated.

  5. Hello there, as the title states my9 week old terrier pup has just come out with a bald patch under her chin and around her neck and chest. ive just came home from work and noticed this. Any suggestions as to what it could be? her skin doesn't seem red and irritated or anything like that, it just appears to have come away. I will upload a picture tomorrow if that's any help.

  9. Just wondering if any of you lot of had any problems with ticks so far this year? I have a pup staying with a friend just until I get my yard sorted, and in the past 2/3 weeks we must of found 15 ticks in total. I find it rather strange as we haven't found a single one on the other dogs. the bedding is changed regular and the kennel and dog have been treated, as have all the other dogs. Any advice on some good treatment would be appreciated. Cheers Chris.

  13. Just to get used to the 'darkness' so to speak, let it get a feel for what its going to be doing. doing this will give the pup a bit of experience and confidence, also there will be old scent in empty earths so it will get used to this.
  14. If the dogs bred right then that's a start, you then have to have a steady and patient head on your shoulders. take the dog out whilst digging and tie it up away from the earth, do this from around 7/8 months. this will let the dog get the scents and hear what's going on under the ground. when the dog gets to around 12/13 (maybe younger or maybe older depending on the dogs maturity, I personally wait until at least 13 months) months let it run empty earths. When the dog is around 15/16 months let it enter an occupied shallow earth (with a locator collar on) and then its down to the dog as you
