    As Mchull said there not performance athletes thow and are not getting there body’s and hearts put under anywhere near as much strain as a coursing dog has on gruelling runs on a regular basis

    Some bitches don’t ovulate till later on in there season and are at there best around there 20th day, I had a bitch once that I took to be mated on 14th day the dog wouldn’t line her so had it done by ai and she had no pups, next time she came in season I had her blood tested to find the best day to mate and took her to a dog on the 19th day and she had 13 pups, a bitch out of that litter which I kept is also the same not ready till the 19th or 20th day

    I seen maloneys Judy run just the once on fens in January and she done 5/5 what a bitch, also seen her sister bonnie runs loads of times and she was also one of the best I’ve seen, they were out of buddy x a bitch out of deacon

    Yea but the hare is given a big head start and it hasn’t got long before it can escape in that type of coursing

    A greyhound has definitely got more speed than a hare and would catch any hare than continued to run in a straight line as long as it’s got a mouth, it’s the hares agility, stamina and acceleration out of the turns which makes it hard to catch

    Same with the pure I had, had a doubled up run once with my coursing bred bitch on a real good hare after about 3 minutes the pure started lagging behind
