  2. My dog had never ran a lure took him to a show give him a run on the lure he took off infront of the other dogs then stoped and came back must of realised it wasn't a live
  3. Tbh with buying pups you take a chance on every single one, I think how the pup turns out Is a lot to do with the owner, any pup brought on right should make a decent animal
  4. See that's a tricky one because the person selling the pups has the dam obviously but might not have the sire, so it might not be possible to see parents work, Tbh if you speak to the person face to face you should be able to judge weather they are genuine by the way they are talking and acting. I like to view a litter when there are about 3 to 4 weeks old to make sure that they are healthy and so I can see the whole litter and I try to arrange the sire to be there as well with owner so you can have a bit crack on with both of them then if I like what I see I will go back to take a pup from t
  5. Not long now lads, just had some bait now just watching bit Tele till its time to get a move on
  6. Good luck to you aswell mate. Yeah wind is also howling here in the northeast so I'm going to make the most of it, nit very often you get text book conditions, well close to haha True enough, been out with my pals beddy dog today and had 2 nice digs as well . So the deer/grey bitch and a pure grey are out tonight to keep them ticking over I'm out with my little saluki whippet x and my pals saluki bull grey
  7. Yeah the conditions havnt been very good at all but still iv had some real good sport so far with a first season dog, so far he is worth his weight in gold
  8. Good luck to you aswell mate. Yeah wind is also howling here in the northeast so I'm going to make the most of it, nit very often you get text book conditions, well close to haha
  9. Well the wind is up so iv just phoned me pal see if he wants a look out local and he's agreed so it's on for tonight. Hopefully we will be able to get on top of the rabbit tonight instead of giving long slips like usual, very hard to get close to anything around here so you gotta take every chance you get. Anyone else out tonight ??
  10. Dogs in top condition, spot on. How's he bred if you don't mind me asking ?
  11. top bloke for taken in the dog.
  12. Well dax is 11 weeks old tomorrow and is as bold as anything, he doesn't leave the lurchers side and does everything with him, they have there own food bowls but dax will still pop his head in the lurchers food bowl and help him eat his bait and the lurcher let's him, there not stop playing in the house and garden. He's had all his vaccines so this week he got to go out for a little walk with my other dog and a mate's two dogs as he will be working along side some of these other dogs on the future, anyway I live 2 minutes away from a massive dene what holds a few rabbits around the path so
  13. Yet again people talking shit, iv come on to ask a question do my homework sort of speak and then have lads chatting shit yet again, I'd say it's better to do your home work and find out what has worked best for people rather than jump on the ban wagon and put him to any bitch if the owner has the stud fee. However I'd rather do my hone work source a good bitch what will be ready for a litter in a few years to come once both dogs have had at least 4 hard seasons under them .
  14. The only thing I would want is maybe a bit height, as he is used more for lamping than anything else
  15. So it is a 21" rabbit dog? The dog is also handy at retrieving hares Good to see such a versatile dog - especially at that height - I like a dog about that height myself. The land a run him on is big fields so he has had to adapt, I like a dog to company in all ny field work as there always of use, he is also good at taking feather which is a bonus as I like my pheasant casarole
  16. The majority of lurchers bred are on a whim, the owner is unsure when, why and how to source or choose the right dog to breed from or with, they own a dog, that to them is a worthy cause, they seldom are and then breed for breedings sake.If in doubt don,t breed, you will just be adding to the endless puppy bandwagon that new owners are to eager to jump on.Experience is the best educater, but beware the more experienced about where the education was wasted. That's what you call kennel blind, I'm not kennel blind iv seen some bad some average and some great dogs, and I know the difference and I kn

  18. Been thinking today a bout breeding dogs and Tbh I wouldn't ever breed a bitch if I had one as I wouldn't be able to handle a litter however iv a young dog here and I was thinking if he keeps up the way he is going then I'd be happy to take a pup from him. I had a good think and Tbh I don't know what kinda bitch a would put him over (well into the future) so if you lads had the dog what would you put him over. The dog in question is 21tts 32lb and is lurcher to lurcher bred made up mainly saluki whippet, he is a handydog on edible quarry and give 110% on every thing Atb jcm
  19. Iv had a cracking start to Yeh season however last two weeks there has been nothing out for the dog, hope it picks back up
  20. Was out with a lad last season, he was gready as f**k with the slips every thing he seen he slipped on even when I told him next slip was mine he waited till my dog was away the slips his, anyway we caught nout simply coz we seen nout due to after his dog ran in started pissing about so in stead of whistleing he used to shout the dog as loud as he could untill the dog came back. Let's just say iv never been out with him since, the Doyle
