  1. Some cracking looking dogs there lads, I'm hopeing to do a lot of retrieving old Charlie with this dog next season. It realy does sound a great mix and the ones or two I'v seen of this x were all out weapons. His do you lads find them for stamina ?
  2. Seen one or two dogs run of this mix and liked what I seen of them. On paper it's an ideal mix to make a handy dogs. Is there many other on here running this mix and how do you rate them. Here is a young sapling I'v got in atm, he will be of age next season. Any pictures are welcome.

  4. Had him out a few more times and he is getting his fitness up gave him some long hard nights lamping this last week and hopefully back out tonight.
  5. See I don't want a dog to hunt to far as I was it to push stuff out in front of the runners and I like to see what is going on at all times same with my terrier he would hunt on and follow a line but I don't allow him as if he followed a line and dropped in I wouldn't know where to find him.
  6. Yeah no worries mate, cheers
  7. Something like that would be ideal for me
  8. I'd imagine that if you don't keep on top of them they would be a nightmare
  9. Thanks for the replays lads, the more a watch clips of them and read up about them the more I'm wanting one. Concentrate on my lurcher pup this year get some stuff sorted and I'll most defenatly get one in the next year or two
  10. Cheers for that, I'd have one to a whistle and the stop stay command etc
  11. How old would a pup be to put it in a kennel ??
  12. What about kennelling, as I'll be kennelling one by its self no other dogs in any kennels around it as my two runners live indoors
  13. Thanks for that as that was my main concern about them I dont like a dog to depended on the human. I like a dog with a brain to work things out for them selfs
  14. Exactly the reason I got a spaniel cross mate. Was looking for a full spaniel to be honest but this bitch came up needing a home so took a chance on her and glad I did. I've not seen many spaniels bushing, only seen them working on shoots. But Socks off here sent me a few clips of his spaniel and other spaniels working and I would say mine works in a similar manner. Never stops in the field for a second. It's amazing to watch and you keep asking yourself where the energy comes from. Their nose is something else. I thought my lurchers had good noses. Nothing compared to this bitch and sh
  15. Has anyone got any clips or anything of there spanial working. One of my main reasons I want a spaniel in is that my terrier is always dropping to ground and finding in a hole and I'm not a digging man and have no interest in it. I want another busher as my terrier is a decent dog but we do some big woods etc and basically another dog would help
  16. Dax a good honest dog that works well for me and helps give my lurchers some excessive I'll be getting him out more in the next few days, get him fit again and he will be flying Hopefully he doesn't drop into anywhere this season
  17. Thanks for the replays lads, what are they like to live with i.e. In the house or kennel
  18. I'v watched a few clips on YouTube but from what I seen the handler sends them in directions and to me they look as if they relied on the handler for there next move instead of hunting for them selfs if you know what I mean
  19. Any of you guys use pure bred spanials to hunt and work along side lurchers. reason I'm asking is a pal of mine has just bought a springer to wrk along side his lurchers and his Harris hawk. I'v never seen one work in the flesh but I'm realy thinking of getting one next year to run with my terrier to flush to the lurchers. I'd like to hear from some people who work them this way good and bad points about livening with them and working them. Cheers jcm
