  1. Cheers darren will have a look for that tonight.
  2. you should try reloader 15 i am told its very good for 223. also H335. what twist rate is your barrel mine is a Sako with a 1/12 twist and it limits me alot.
  3. Simon i know what you mean about them making up their own rules i lived in surrey and they are very diff to avon and somerset. i have had the argument with avon and somerset about the dsc as i dont have one, in the end they had to give in as they cant insist on it.
  4. black lab have you tried any of the 60g or balistic tip noslers in 50g.
  5. Oh i like that very good, i have read a bit about the 52 and 53 grain bullets saying how good they are and the reloader 7 and 15 powders proof is in the pudding aye.
  6. I have been reloading for years and i use lee gear no problems i have the four hole turret and find it is ok, but do make sure you get a lube pad i didnt and if you dont get enough lube on the case it will get stuck in the re-size die too much and you will get a dent in the shoulder, the lube pad works a treat and stops those probs. I brought the lee gear because i didnt want to spend too much just incase it didnt work out but as it happens it easy as long as you dont let yourself become too much of an ammo geek!!!!!.
  7. The hmr is more expensive than .22lr, but only marginally different to 12 bore carts. I bet you get a better kill ratio with the hmr, so what's the problem. didnt think shotguns were in question
  8. Hi fox head thats a rifle that i would like and would be interested in how you get on with the 1/12 twist i have that in my sako and find it a bit limiting.
  9. Simon does that mean that south wales dont allow .17 for fox control or is it just not on your ticket. your right about the "Ask 100 people" but with the .17 on foxes i know that people say about head shots at 150yrds but if you have to rely on a head shot then the cal is too small in my opinion. but with that said i do think that for rabbit and fox the .17 is the best round available because it is accurate enough to shoot rabbits in the head at good distances and it extends your reach on a fox compaired to a .22lr a few more yards, but as mentioned the draw back is the ammo the last i broug
  10. Hi bert69 Thats very bad mate you need to get it bedded again asap or it will get worse
  11. only in America. i love the way he never even thought to look in the chamber or at the shell first, straight down the barrel.
  12. I think you have to give us an idea of what you want them for as stated but, i use a 223 for foxes and i have a 22lr that i use for rabbits i have a .17hmr and a .17 centrefire and those 2 will be leaving soon as i cant find a use for them that the 22lr and the 223 dont cover. However if you are meaning the 22wmr i would go for the 22 over the 17 as it useds the bigger bullet which is always my preference.
  13. if you have doubts about a 223 being granted on your land then the 204,220,222 will also be doubtful but the 22 hornet may be more acceptable it is alot slower than the others but a great foxing round. ithink it would be ok out to nearly 200yrds with practice. the most cost effective solution is to load your own. all centrefire ammo is expensive now and i think that hornet ammo is no exception. There is also the .17 centrefire but you will find it hard to find a rifle chambered for that round now adays and even harder to find the ammo. the high seat will make alot of dif to what you are able
  14. DSC what a con just like CSCS, a qualification that is almost insisted upon by the police but an unregulated money making con the police should hang their heads. what a load of rubbish at least have a regulated qualification that is run by the government for acceptable money.
  15. I think that the gas tight type were what was issued to the home guard in the second world war and were black powder, thats not gospel but it seems to ring a bell as a friend of mine had some given to him years ago.
  16. You have to do what you feel comfortable with Elevenses, you are responsible for your bullet. I have to shoot a field that runns along the A39 like yours there is a bank even if it is only about 5` so i tend to wait till there is no traffic when using the 22lr, Shooting off sticks will help to improve the angle of shot and will go along way to reducing the risk of the bullet pinging all over the place.
  17. Yep thats the stuff, i have seen it advertised and seem to remember visiting a web site. if you want to sort it out the easy way just strip the finish off the barrel, degrease and blu it, i think thats what i might do, sorry i cant be of more help to you.
