  1. Or if you are lucky enough to have a good few hundred yards (plus backstop ) then best to get on paper and try some rounds. Best way is always to get real data!
  2. I managed similar sub 1 inch groups at home on both my 22's I've had. Very capable rifles but I wouldn't be looking at head shooting rabbits etc that far with one
  3. I've had a brilliant CZ 452 and now a Browning T bolt and it's also really good. For the money (new cost) they are hard to beat
  4. You can get a conversion kit (basically a bar) from bush wear I think
  5. Ballistic calculator? Jbm ballistics
  6. I know, it's depressing. I need to move!
  7. It's a UniqueFire T20 running an 850nm Oslon black with a 66mm Crelant head. How far out does that get you? My EJ230 just doesn't work at all well past 20 yards with my T20
  8. Which if either has your N750? .223 I so need to get out or I'm going to knock someone out
  9. Thought of the hornet but both my local RFD's say that stock ammo is poor. They also suggested 222 as being limited for ammo compared to 223 I need to go and see someone with a hornet and see if I can try it. Same for 222 and 223
  10. Nice job, enjoy the reading of these a lot, great insight into others experiences that I can learn stuff from
  11. Do a tiny tiny bit of that at home, mrs has about 50 chickens and it's no end of grief with that few
  12. Good quality meat for dog food? Are you nuts? Something doesn't sound right here or maybe I'm just not old enough to be that eccentric
  13. I need a day out the office before i lose my marbles.........................
  14. Chav, how rude I searched some other threads and forums and went to the local gunsmith earlier and loads point to the 223 as offering more bullet choice, better rifle choice la lal la la etc There's so little between them and lots say they are both just as good as each other. Guess its a preference choice Will check what the rifle cost/availability is too
  15. fair do's CC. There seems to be more choice in 223 for pretty similar performance. Might be the way forward
  16. I'll go and have a window shop at lunchtime and see what there is. Out of interest though, you're not an advocate of the 17hmr?
  17. Hmmm. I'm not into reloading as i don't really have the time or patience That probablt rules out the Hornet for me then. I've just gone through a basic ballistic calculator for Winchester Ammo on calibres 17hmr, 204 Ruger, 22 hornet, 22-250, 220 Swift, 222, 223 and there are some interesting findings. 204, 22-250 came out quite good but i know its only paper theory etc. I've also got to think about safety of course and ensure that what i hit doesn't have the bullet coming through the other side and heading off into the galaxy. Hence why i dont use the 243 when its dark, especially
  18. Tried that but my rifle was spitting them out and didn't give me a lot of confidence even on targets in the daytime.
