I don't think a gay person would be any more of a threat to kids than a straight person. After all Jimmy savile was supposedly straight. You need a TRUSTED person for babysitting, regardless of sexual orientation. The list of babysitters I used in the past were all on a shortlist of 3 or 4.

I know why less people are giving to charity these days and it's not down to the economic climate. In the past, adverts used to say "Give what you can" and you would make a donation if you wanted to. Now they tell you how much to give - e.g £3 a month by direct debit. I might want to give £20 say, to whatever charity, but I don't want to, or can't afford to give them £36 a year, so give them nothing instead. Sad but true.

They say some things don't translate well, and this is a definite example. The yanks haven't even tried to make it their own, just repeating word for word the English version. Same characters, same words, just not the slightest bit funny. The episode I watched last night was one of my faves, where Simon spews on his girlfriend's little brother. The English version makes me cry with laughter every time, but this USA version just had me thinking WTF? Americans - leave the English humour to the English. You f*cked up The Office too.

I hear the BBC are going to name someone later today who wasn't a filthy sex case, but they are still trawling their records to find him. We heard all about how everyone turned a blind eye to Savile and it only came out after he was dead, but what about these other nonces? Why has it taken 30 years for them to be named? Something very strange going on.
