he didnt call him a dog theif he said it looked suspicious would you meet somebody in a carpark and go for a drink leaving your dogs in the motor when you dont really know a person he asked you if he could take the malamute x out on the rabbits after the corn was cut and you said you would contact him and never did i remember you did call the man a dog thief or accused him of being a dog thief, an yes i would meet the guy in a carpark if several others had vouched for him lol i had every intention of taking you out until i was reminded of you calling a guy a dogthief, not the sort i like

well going by the folk i have met off here, what i have read on this site id take an educated guess as to say most the folk on this forim with dogs dont get out enuff to test a dog, how many nites a week do you think is acceptable to lamp a dog??? a fit healthy dog?? the way i see it, most folk just dont have the time to test there dogs, there will be folk who have all the quarry they need on doorstep an guys that travel a few times a week, but not everybody is in that position.. i agree dogs that pull up for no good reason are jackers, dogs that yip on a chase aint for me, but if you or a

wel im afraid bunnys is the only thing i can test the dogs on, as i dotn have access to lots of rats, an as for bunnys not being a test for most dogs lol try doing it most nites of the week, granted they dont get all the scars of your fox dogs, but most dogs will an do sicken of bunnys quickly when the workload is there

surely thats down to the dogs capabilities, rather than its heart, dogs cant run forever, but i agree, with the pulling up or losing heart, a dog which dont give 100% when you know it can, is what i call a jacker I'm not sure what you mean in your first sentence; but there are dogs that don't have the capabilities to catch a good hare, but will die trying, these dogs are not "jackers"... then there's dogs that have the capability to catch a hare, and do one day, but the next, they put in a halfhearted run, and give up, even tho' they still had a chance; these dogs, to me are "jackers".

you seem to be jumping to a lot of conclusions matey, i never said all the dogs, i said most the dogs, an i never said my dogs were any good at what i do, i said they get tested to know whether they are any good so if you read what i wrote properly, my dogs wouldnt be in that category, as they have been tested

worked hard is self explanatory in my eyes, doing its job an doing it often, a few times a week in my case, yeah we all have diffrent standards, but im sure if we are all totally honest to ourself an each other, then the vast majority of folk will agree on the same faults in working dogs, some are just happier than others to live with them faults or flaws n the dogs

i didnt say they was good at there jobs either i said they were tested to the point i knew what i had in me kennels, so i guess thats a no, i dont include them into that category

i owned a collie/grey x saluki/grey bitch an she was a decent dog for me, she did start picking an choosing runs on bunnys in her 5th season, an i was gutted, but up until that point, she geed me everything she had an more on edible quarry, didnae like teeth tho, but i wasnae arsed, she made bunnys an lots of them look easy, only ever lost 1 big bunny, she ended up taking epileptic fits in her 5th season, not long after she started picking her runs, she wasnt the type a dog that could be left in kennel when you took other out, so she was pts, a good few folk on this site seen her run....
