  5. people who bought one at £200 will be wishing they had waited for the January sales! and remembering it next time you have a litter for sale..
  6. Do you work your dog alone or do you lamp with other people as 2 or more more dogs working together could start ripping rabbits apart or dogs fighting over there quarry i my self have never seen dogs working together not get snappy over there catch work mine on or off but depends on sercomstances with or with out other dogs, they are just to high drive to watch another dog on quarry and not join the chace, best dogs ive seen. Sometimes have one off at night to hunt up.In the day its always a good idea to have a dog close whilst others work away.Dogs hunting dont always see what they have fl
  7. When you are that full of shit,it has to end up on paper!
  8. Nothing has changed. The stuff is still below ground and if you want it out then you will need a dog who can first of all physically gain access and at the same time have heart and desire to stay there until he is removed. That dog is still known has a terrier or earth dog.
  9. I have seen excellent digging dogs refuse to go in thick cover............ I think you would describe that has a working terrier that doesnt like cover.
  10. Sambo-H has it right mate. what the main thing is is containment. stop them getting out. It doesnt matter how you start it will end up with more than one dog going for a single rat and while they are busy with that another three will bolt. that wont matter if they cant get out,but you will be amazed how they do get out. Once when we did some rearing sheds on a pheasant farm we just put wire around each one then two of us got inside the fence with six terriers and lifted up the shed using fence posts as levers. has soon as the shed was 6" off the ground in they went and slaughtered. We then had
  11. Nice litter.Do you know if they will be tried at the digging job or are they pet homes?
  12. Just a few months ago i bought a well bred pup off Gumtree..The seller is a member off here but has he said if it isnt the shitty comments its all the rules and regs that get you down.In short if you want to sell a dog and you dont want to be judged for selling that property which after all you have every right to do then this is the last place where you will find success...
  13. yes this is a hunting site not a.......................flog your shit to some poor c**t site Its the livestock for sale section isnt it? I think its designed for people to sell livestock isnt it? whats the problem?
  14. If I ever have an idea or offer which i think could be good for me and someone else off this site I think i would just keep it to myself. It just seems people look for fault in everything.

    moochers

Whats happened to moochers.Has it gone?
  17. I know its difficult with mature dogs. They dont really want to play or gallop, and a lot wont chase balls and things. A gallop with you whistling him whilst someone holds him is useful, on some grass or field margain.I do this or like you have already done a steady canter behind the vehicle for 3,4 0r 500yds or let him run round in woodland. The smells usually get them going, but they can get into trouble or taken off by roe scent etc. I use a greyhound walker aswell, especially before the season to tighten toes and things up.It also encourages steady breathing.Start with 10mins once hes used to i
  18. Hes mature enough then, but hard ground can do a lot of harm to a dog.I would try and find a bone man in your area and have him checked now and then.It dont usually cost much, but a lot of injuries in dogs dont show but can effect performance.Every dog is diffrent. All you can do is keep him fit.Dont over work him and check for injury now and then. When you say full fitness,if you are talking about a peak of fitness. That will only last a short time before the dog needs resting. You wouldnt want the dog too fit in summer would you?
  19. Ive read that a few times but i cant understand it.Can you write it again please.
  20. Watch galloping in summer on hard ground. You could do more harm.Is the dog over 15months? If not is growth plates arnt set and again more harm can be done.Steady walking or genral exercise will firm ligaments etc if its regular. You dont want to over train a dog in summer for it to be stale by autumn. Stallion gates in sheffield make good lure machines.
