  1. hi all have been walking my pup for a few miles a day now and decided to take him out lamping with a mates dog was intrested to see that the pup did spot a rabbit down the lamp he sat there taking in all the information he needed can only do him good he walked real well we didnt see much but the pup had a good play and loved every second atb oneshot
  2. the people who say you shouldnt walk him to much read to many books i have freinds and they have taken there dogs out from as good as day one and not one of them have had problems i walk my pup twice a day sometimes for a fair few miles i belive it helps them build up stamina and yes these dogs have done 7 or 8 seasons and not one of them have had problems with there joints atb oneshot

  9. you have met me ray i was talking to you at the midland show. i belive you travelled four and a half hours to go lamping with whin last week and i heard that you do alot of traveling to go lamping with other lads how is it that you never took the offer from my mate to go out for a night with him when he only lives 50 miles away ? 10. without causing a argument how do u know whos telling the truth
  11. trigger is a collie x,when any dog is worked hard the cracks appear, more so if they have collie blood .all he is doing is telling you the way he trains his pups, its not doing harm to any one,its up to them if they want do the same , just for a matter of interest how many of you took young pups out when you were at school and they turned out good dogs
  12. iv never set eyes on you but i would say your a big lad, knocked a few people out and most people who know you are scared of you ( because all you ever do is bully ) so if i was you unless you got something useful to say, say nothing, maybe one day the bubble might bust and the real you might appear
  13. horses, greyhounds, they all try for the best,so whats wrong with trying to get one of the best lurchers, dont you try to put the best dog possible to your bitch when you bred.having a well bred pup is only half the battle the other half is the man, talking of bragging didnt you say your greyhound had caught more rabbits in one season than most lurchers catch in 3,and she was out for 3 month with pups, thats not just bagging i would say its mixed with a bit of bull, you know what they say about glass houses
  14. so you think a dog that catches 10 out of 10 and then burns out is better than one that plods on steady all night , missing a few , but ends up with 30 or 40. its whats in the bag at the end of the night that counts like whin said , but if i was whin i would get rid of my blinkers
  15. a little bit of knoledge can be dangerous because on the other side of the coin excercise makes anything young produce growth hormounes and thats the reason they put greyhound pups in big compounds so they can excercise as much as possible the only reason im writing this is because i dont want people to think that you cant take a pup out from a young age they have more chance of injuring there growth plates running round in an small space like your garden than in feilds working none of the dogs i have owned or had experience with what have been taken out from a young age have suffered any pro
  16. hi im new here and was just wondering why most of the information given out on this site is straight out of a text book does anybody have any ideas of there own cus from the old books what i have read they dont seem to have much idea what there on about not having ago at anybody it just my opinion
  17. too rough Mate, I walked the dog earlier and I'm suprised the trees weren't being pulled out the ground by it! The usual rabbits I see hopping about every evening were nowhere to be seen that's for sure. In fairness to you like I do live right on top of a hill and it has calmed down a bit now from what it was, and it's stopped lashing down. I'm not normally one to miss a night but from what I saw earlier I wouldn't think much would be about - but now it's settled that might be different. Anyway, I think a lot of it doesn't matter that much. I went out on Friday night on some permis

  19. ent you the bloke who said a very similar thing about the malamute x greyhound
  20. hi all was just wondering bout what you think bout this breed would it be a good dog to have for all types of quarry
  21. reality you havnt seen the same dogs as me you say no stamina no pace and stubborn thats a load of shit these dogs have loads of stamina and are fast and alot more agile than people think and a big heavy coat they suffer no different to any lurcher in hot conditions they catch there quarry so regardless what people say there doing the job they was bred for they dont need to be bigged up the owners of these dogs know they work and thats all what matters try spending a bit more time with your own dogs instead of trying to run others down
