    Reading some peoples comments on here..they make me laugh ,but they prob arent in dogs long enough to know any better many people seem to think show ponies and racing dogs cant make the grade as working dogs well....stand corrected , i felt i need to stand up for the tescos bag chasing lurcher generation!     APPLE BLOSSOM,due to difficulty getting stewards and helpers on the 8th of june, my show will now be held on SATURDAY 1ST JUNE 2013, IT WILL BE RUN AS NORTHERN IRELAND SPORTING DOG CLUB, IT IS A QUALIFIER For THE 5 NATIONS AT BIRR CASTLE GF, AND BOTH THE WINNER OF THE UNDERS AND OVERS WILL QUALIFY FOR THE MASTER MCGRATH THERE WILL BE A FEW CLASSES FOR HOUNDS AND STRONG DOGS, SUBJECT TO INTEREST THERE WILL BE FERRET RACING AND SHOWING... I have spent a fortune so far on trophies and classy rosettes , and hope to make this a show to remember! hope to get a good turn out for the racing

As I remember last year It was spread over two or three pages....Cant understand why its not the same this time as along with the master mcgrath its the top two premiered events in the lurcher calender...No photographs no results....Why?

    yes i here what your saying, i will be asking for the co-operation from the whippet club,as it will already be a massive task trying to regulate the lurchers alone, and all the other lurcher clubs around the north, and if plans go ahead and we do get this club set up,i will be inviting the whippet club members to are club events to tell us whats what...

    Flash, We were criricised on this forum about the prizes for the lurchers and terriers being much poorer than the other sports and so I reacted by bringing them up to a similar level and giving terriers, lurchers and whippets equal status and a similar profile to other sports at our fairs. Believe you me we could have saved several thousands of pounds by not doing this. Unlike other events we put a lot of money back into prizes ourselves as well as seeking good sponsorship. In my opinion it is not the prize value - do we get cheating in clays, gundogs etc - NO! Because for these spo

    I had an excellent week end, the weather was brilliant, very happy with the results....love the slip lead, high quality! Ian, paco the high jump winner is collie/greyhound X whippet ,he was a half brother to "turbo" ,both are out of my old bitch "sheba",out of different whippet sires, the one who i was telling you about that was suppose starred in the man about dog film, but refuse to do the high jump on the film set at Naas,co.kildare! that leaves "paco" some way related to "maverick " the over 23's winner, "turbo" being "maverick's" grand mother....there a brain teaser for you! thanks
