the reason it was only 150yrds is because two different lures on the day quit working....and the one that they finally used had to be shortened,as the line snaped...the final was re-run as it quit before the line, id like to see the racing over 400yrds, it would suit my lad perfect the longer the better! but why could it not be run the same distance as the all ireland which was run shortly after? i believe it was run over the same distance this year as the mastermcgrath , but i could be wrong.....the all irelands usely over 250yrds at least...

We ALL can see what you mean !! If you want "Whippet"! only racing, then show your papers !! SIMPLE !!. There are guys like Bob, who race and work there dogs, and enjoy it ! Why can't you guys ????? No, you just must win "Lurcher" racing.. where VERY few actual working Lurchers take part !! As I KEEP saying, why don't you people race your dogs against their peers, out of traps on a real track, instead of racing against LURCHERS who don't have a chance ?? I really have no idea why you keep saying we are trying to run against lurchers??? That is NOT the point here, the point is that organ

I know that this topic isnt just about your show but your show is one of the first shows this year and im worried that everyone else is going to follow in your footsteps and leave the whippet racing out of there shows to . speedy you worry to much, other shows will do their own thing not follow me,the thing with being first is i get to try it first,if it works thats great but if it doesnt then i get slated and the other shows do it different.i dont mind taking a bit of stick but as an organizer and a whippet owner im sick of all the rubbish about racing whippets at a show.theres a few on her

SAMMY ,YOU DONT SEEM TO HAVE A THICK SKIN YET YOU COME ON HERE EXPECTING TO GET NO FED BACK ON COMMENTS THAT YOU HAVE MADE THAT DONT MAKE SENSE ,THAT MITE INSULT SOME PEOPLE, RACING IS RACING, I CANT SEE HOW YOU THINK IT IS WRONG FOR ANY ONE TO RACE THERE DOG AT A SHOW THEY HELP RUN FOR EVERY ONE,IF YOU TAKE IT THAT SERIOUS GET A FASTER DOG THAT YOU HAVE A CHANCE OF WINNING WITH! AS FOR THE LURCHERS IN DOGS POUNDS REMARK, IT CERTAINLY ISNT THE SUCCESSFUL RACING/SHOW FOLK FILL THE POUNDS AND RESCUES WITH DOGS, AS THESE FOLK ALL KEEP THERE PENSIONERS INTO OLD AGE, ITS THE PART TIME LURCHER MEN

what a gob sh*te! how can you cheat at racing? (bar 1 strabane man who tryed his hand at racing a full greyhound bitch ,maureen's angel X droopys maldini) take it u dont win very often, and if it bothers you why dont you go an get a better ,faster dog? or maybe feed the one you've got a little better!! as for racing ur own dog , whiles running a show...why not ?? and to sammy , john humphries isnt the only one who stands at the end of the line cheering there dog on .... i do!!! and as well as this it stop them running back down the field with the rest of the dogs whos owners dont bother

what i really cant understand is that there is now an under 21 inches rule that means whippets,or any lurcher under that, yet the standard for whippets is ideally 18 and a half inches for a dog, 17 and a half for a bitch, and the whippet coursing club have a max height limit of 20 inches, (the english whippet book) it is my idea if were talking about height limits and racing for pedigree whippets and pedigrees only should it not be pedigree whippet standard?? i dont think we can complain when people race non-peds of that height as it is really hard to tell, how do we tell whippets from 15ths 1

yesterday i had a meeting with lilly, the boss of the ipbta club and she has asked me to make a change of plan.... the changes are as follows the conformation show will now take place all on the same day as the strong dogs, 24th march, and she has asked me to move forward my events to the week after , but i am aware theres another race day that weekend, so it will now be the 7th of april if it does not clash with anything ,that will be in the same place as the show behind campions pub that day there will be pedigree whippet racing , lurcher racing under 21,23, 25 and over 25 there will be

i was up talking to the organizers yesterday and its full steam ahead!! the trophies and rosettes promise to be the best you've seen.... Lilly the club founder was asking me if i was going to run a league for the lurcher and whippet events, that would mean a qualifier at each show that has applied and run a "irish whippet derby" and "irish lurcher derby" for the under 23's and one for the over 23's were we would be putting up prize money a perpetual cup and a presentation jacket ? this would be run at the final show of the year held in sept. there would also be a league for the long ju

i still have to speck with the other organizers on sunday, but i was thinking on a class for any breed not specified...the would be for bedlingtons, wheatons ,glenns ect, it depend on how many trophies and rossettes theyre allowing me for....im thinking quality not quantity ,last year they spent a fortune on trophies and the rossettes are top class, but il she what she says... I'd send you a collar and lead over as a prize for a Wheaten class, on the condition that any profit from the entries went to charity and not into Ed Reids pocket ed reid will not be attending this one...he
