  1. Me and ziggy use to go over there every month for a couple of year. Do they still have a good turn out bet there was nearly 30 lads there at 1 point
  2. Out of interest Morton Where do you think your line would be now without the fell influence and do you think you can carry on producing working dogs without put crossing again
  3. I agree with that. I’ve seen a litter of 3 bred out of 2 steady terriers that wouldn’t stay. The pups won’t go never mind stay. The dogs might be useful but they’re definitely not breeding stock
  4. Had 2 different failed digging bitches to a fox in here today and no bolt. Old bloke had many fox in there over last 40 year never had a bolt with a bolting dog. And never had a terrier kill 1 even with dogs that killed them regularly. Wouldn’t want a proper digging dog in there
  5. They handy for the job mate and the couplings seem to hold up
  6. Just tapered thread. Make sure everything lines up properly before you weld them up and jobs a good en. A few lads on here been digging with them for a year or 2 now. My old 1 I made before them we used until the head was just worn out and the coupling never missed at all. Only problem lads have had is putting them away wet and letting the threads get rusty and they don’t lock out in line but they clean up and be good again
  7. Similar to some I’ve been making for a while.
  8. Wonder if he knows the difference between a dog and a bitch
  9. Some man to put a pic up trying to prove he’s not dodgy then lying about the pic he’s stolen from somewhere else
  10. Is it me or is she actually a dog not a bitch. Smells fcuking dodgy this Cnut
  11. Ye they’re smart box’s. Thought it would save me wasting someone’s time if someone on here knew what they made them from
  12. I’ve dealt with plenty of kingspan and fridge pannels. Just when someone said they where maid out of a 22mm insulated it sounded like a decent product
  13. when it sounded like they were just 22mm insulated board it’d be worth paying extra for instead of plywood
  14. So are them monarch kennels just kingspan between 2 pieces of plastic then. I read it as some sort of insulated plastic
  15. Does anyone know where you can buy that thema board
  16. I think this must be the first time everyone on the hunting life has agreed on something. Stop end.... is a clown ??
  17. Basically she won’t stay for ever if the quarry won’t bolt. She won’t push on and try as hard as a decent earthdog and she not likely to get herself hurt especially if there is something else home. To me size and shape isn’t as important as working style and attitude
  18. There usually bits af grass and moorland round the piles that show signs but there will have been mistakes made that’s why most lads will look for a terrier that does go near them
  19. Ye they definitely use them. And it doesn’t sound good to me. I think it was comen for men to use more than 1 terrier in rocks years ago it’s always sounded like a disaster waiting to happen
  20. Most lads try to find terriers that don’t stay. And the lads that have them that will stay but still work rock will have to know ther places just because a lurcher or hound marks a fox doesn’t mean there isn’t anything else home and that’s when it can get really messy. I’ve heard stories from a lot of years ago of old keepers and terrier men let 4 or 5 terriers into piles with them in and eventually they bolt but they could just be tales and doesn’t sound good to me
  21. To be honest I only have 1 terrier here I’d risk in rocks and I’d probably pick my places a bit with her but the others will never even get walked near them
  22. If you didn’t work rocks round us you’d struggled to do a terrier justice. I was out with a bloke other day his son comes on here a lot. An old bitch of his worked well into its teens on the rocks 4 days a week in the season and at least 1 pile a day and never had a night out. Can’t remember the exact numbers he said but 1 season it had been to 50 odd with him and 40 odd with his son. Think you’d struggle round us just doing earths in an ideal world we’d live in a perfect part of the country working our perfect dogs in perfect earths
  23. The bitch was put let in to bolt a fox. How many terriers will have gone to ground to bolt a fox today. Unfortunately the bitch got stuck luckily there’s something call the fell and moorland working terrier club. They paid the hire on the machine an some decent lads turned up to lend a hand to RESCUE a stuck terrier. Most dogs that are dug to today will have been bred out of dogs that was used in places like that and unfortunately sometimes get stuck. That’s why all them years ago certain men started the club. Are you saying he should of just left the bitch and not dug it
  24. No quarry. With how dodgy the hole was we didn’t spend any time looking. The pile had been open 2 night while digging so it could have come then and we left it open over night after we got the bitch so it could come before we backfilled. Seem to remember being able to smell it strongly half way up the dig on the second day but not the third
  25. To be honest I think the back wall was under cut so the top was over hanging if anything. The lad on machine that day touched all big rocks with bucket and was happy they where safe. I was on machine last day me and the bitches owner turned up couple of hour earlier than everyone else so I could pull it all back I wasn’t happy with men standing under it. And I say over a 1000 ton
