  1. I’ve been round a few GWP. I’ve seen them catch on top we put 1 up with 2 bitches a few week ago out off a bracken bed they went over the hill with it when we got to the top they had it caught. Seen them have long hunts and runs like a hound and catch them. Doesn’t happen often but they can catch. I agree they won’t catch like a running dog will but they’re not a running dog. I’ve brought my bitch up fox only and she won’t hunt any bird she’ll mess about a little bit on rabbit if there nothing else doing and she’s never even thought about pointing on anything not sure if that’s breeding or how
  2. Roughly what part off the country is that. The stone looks familiar
  3. You want to get some knocked together and sold lads would pay good money for decent boxes like them. I’ve made some similar but used 6mm plastic stock board. I haven’t insulted mine because they’re going in internal kennels with underfloor heating
  4. Depends what you’ve heard about them. I’m not sure about them being the latest thing the ones I seen that got me interested in the are both dead now they where both bought before the hunting act came in for if there wasn’t going to be any hound work at all. The same bloke had them before that for many years but used them for picking grouse as well as hunting fox. A few lads I know have got into them because off what I’ve said about them and also crossed a couple off lurchers with them and I don’t think they have been disappointed so far. I can only speak about the ones I have seen and they are
  5. Do you keep GWP yourself then? And what’s better about the GWP compared to the other breeds from a HPR point of view
  6. Ye I can imagine the effort that goes in to training them to that standard. Have you had much to do with any off the other HPR breeds
  7. I’ve never had anything to do with trials or anything. What do they consist off for a HPR
  8. Is that field trials in this country or the trials they have abroad?
  9. Thanks she’s a cracker. Built more like a dog than a bitch if that makes sense. Looks wise she’s turned out better than I ever thought she would
  10. A bit off all 3 really mate. I run the lurcher loose with her I’ve always used lurchers for hunting up but always felt like I could be walking past stuff. Toyed with the idea of a spaniel or some sort off bushing dog. Always heard good things about the GWP as a fox dog and then I seen a couple work regularly a few years back and decided they was for me they’re the real deal for what I do so I just did plenty of homework and waited for the [BANNED TEXT] litter
  11. No I just hunt her more like a hound. Let her go and she’ll go look for scent she’ll take a line on them. She’ll give mouth when she’s behind them. She getting there with the marking and she will retrieve one to me once it’s been shot if there’s no other dogs around me. She hasn’t gone on point at anything yet and I’m not over fussed if she does or doesn’t
  12. 13 month old bitch hunting well and getting there with the marking
  13. This bitch has been brought up on fox only, she will hunt rabbit a little bit but slowly getting her away from that. She’s 13 month old and doing well so far
  14. You had to be good at something other than back filling and the salmon flop ?
  15. Best I’ve seen on the bucket and rope to be fair ?
  16. f**k off half off it. Your not getting away with that 4ft max ??
  17. I knew about it when we’d finished. Would have been better first thing in morning not after a days graft
  18. Is that what it was I can’t remember the numbers can just remember it was fooking deep and I was glad to see your bitch when I broke through
  19. You are a faint hearted f****r tho?
  20. Ye we bolted 1 today. It runs along a face probably 100 yard long. With about 10 holes going into it. There’s some old stone kists built in front of some of the holes that a keeper did over 100 year ago. They’re not useable anymore. The pile off stone you can see is from when a keeper walled it all up when there was something else using it. Only ever been 1 terrier lost in it that I’ve been told about and that was a long time ago and not with a fox.
  21. Hole goes in on rock face. Pointers marking an old dig with loose bits off rock thrown back in. That’s where terrier got to it first
