  1. Went to this today..first gameshow in years and we thought it was pretty good, terrier and lurcher show was ran well and there was a nice atmosphere. bit pricey entry though!!
  2. I agree with all the above, just keep taking her out and let her instincts take over. Better still go out with some decent respectable people who are already working their dogs to fox responsibly for good reasons, keep away from any idiots and ignore any bravado. Always be aware of her potentiall going to ground if you are on your own, be vigilant so you dont get caught out and un-prepared. Some dogs just 'have it' and you will see them scenting where foxes have been and it all progresses from there. If you want to enter her to ground best be with ppl who have done it (successfuly) before. Goo

  4. I've got one that is well past working age but is and was a brilliant dog. No hesitation with that cross if they are off decent parents and reputable people...Good Luck...
  5. Wirral, spot on. I would only add that I wouldnt describe the 'diggin' approach as traditional, its precisely the opposite actually, historically terriers were bred to BOLT qaurry. Fact. Obviously as you rightly say sometimes you had to dig and we had a few examples where, for instance, the fox was mid bolt saw or sensed us and returned to earth. In those circustances we probably ended up digging and even in those cases my dog would keep harassing the fox so it either stayed put or was forced to bolt again.   6. I am new to the forum so I will just add my two penny worth. I used to be heavily into sensible, lawful and necessary working of terriers until I felt the sport was becoming ruined by idiots and petty criminals who had no real love for the countyside, their dogs or as importantly their quarry. This resulted in an appauling image for the sport I loved, with both the general public and the genuine countyside community. The sport was steeped in history, culture and evrything good about fieldsports but this was systematically dismantled by the disgraceful activities of so-called terrier and lurche
