Ok Davy, was in a cranky mood hence the sharp reply. It is now in the correct section Was pricing some rapids today and there coming up 7 and 8 hundred without scopes so looking for second hand ones. Does anyone know of a cheaper tho still as good alternative to the rapid? Thanks

Unfortunately I have the same outlook slips, I think it should at least be showing intrest in blatant scents even at this age but I am going to give it plenty of time as I hope one day it will just click into place.

Iv had an s410 and an hw100 which I didn't like any of the 2 but heard good things about the rapid. Just looking for ideas from people then I decide and try them out.

Cheers guys, il definatlybe giving him time, I'm just making the mistake of comparing him to my other dogs at that age. Just wish I could see a slight bit of enthuisiasm from him.

Was out flushing foxes to the gun at the weekend with th terriers and lurchers. I had my 7 mnth old dog with me bit was showing no signs of interest in anything. The other dogs were in and out the gorsh working great flushing rabbits, deer, hares so there was plenty going on. Also found an earth that was stinking of fox but to late on for a dig and still no intrest from him. I know he's still young but I'm a bit worried about his lack of intrest. It wasn't his first time out either as he's been to the rats and has been out flushing before but always sticks to my side and doesn't want to hunt

How are the beardies on Charlie, one small collies cross I had fired right in while another was very wary at catching them. She had a few but more got away than caught because of this.

I know nothing about the beardies, have never seen one work or know there temperament. Had a few border collies crosses and would like to know the difference between the two.

What is the beardie x prey drive like. I found the border crosses weren't to keen on stuff that bit back and would never go full bore

Which mix of crosses would you guys recommend for my needs. Got permission with lots of thick cover and all quarry on it. Il be using it for lamping, working with terriers and working thick heavy cover. I haven't much experience with different crosses like deerhounds, wheatons, bedlingtons or bulls as it was collie saluki types I ran. I kook forward to your advice and opinions.

There isn't enough authors like darcy who write it as it is. Going on a relaxing holiday in the summer and taking a couple of dog books with you to reads makes you wish you weren't lying on a sun lounger on the beach but instead were on a windy wet moor or hill in the middle of the night in December. Not many things can get you like that. I enjoyed that post Halty lad and I envy your exploits pre ban and abroad. Well done mate, I hope to hear more from you.

What do you think is the best smoker out there, the converted chainsaw or has anyone used the mk1 or 2 that's advertised in the countrymans weekly or is there any better alternatives that you use and find better. Thanks
