    Wind dropped off where I went and was clear skies. Still dark in the fields but every little noise seemed so much louder.

    Yes she retrieves mate but unfortunately she will not put them in your hand which is rather embarassing with a name like STRAIGHT2HAND lol, she has a soft mouth and will run back the length of a field with them and usual pin them for you to take off her within a few feet of yah, I can live with that so long as she does everything else well cant knock that, hopefully more practice will help with that.

    Once she finished looking at them like that did she just carry on her way I assume or did you call her in ? My dog used to look at them like that but it was because he was weighing up his options. He doesn't do it any more though just left her, I trust her as she has been ok so far. And been around plenty as always on the fells.

    There definatly a difference between the sheep on the fells and in the grass fields. Some dogs that are bomb proof lamping ferreting in the fields aren't always bomb proof on the fells. With my pup I make sure I can trust her around both. I'm not sure if there a smell about the fell sheep or that they can sometimes surprise dogs coming out of bracken etc I'm not sure. But I definatly treat them both different in my training as where we hunt need them 100% broke in. So far so good.

    He looks a fine animal frankel I have his half brother how tall is he now he looks massive28 inch 67lb, plenty filling out today and maturing. He's coming on well, had a decent start to season. Retrieves like a gundog too.

    Between 3 & 4 month old, walked along side of skiddaw and can remember her being fine while out but shattered when we were finished.. From 5 month was doing normal hikes along any fell I done really, in Any weather. 3 & a bit month on this pic 6 month 7 month a top of Ben chonzie 10 month Ben lomond

    Very nice that mate, a lot of people to keen to get dogs running. Is it your brother with the black 3/8 5/8 bull bitch ? That is a fine animal aswell thanks, I just took advice from the lads running these types, and advice from my brother and dad. im pleased now my patience & training is paying off now.Yeah my brother has the bull bitch she's a nice one isn't she. She is possibly the nicest bitch I seen, only young tho isn't she, spoke to your bro a few times I'd like to see her progress.Not very often you see a dog and think what a dog? yeah she's a week or two younger than my pup. S
