  1. It never happened, they caught every time but the pup only ran twice with assistance. After that she caught on her own, not saying she catches every time but much more often than not. It didn't seem to affect her but to each their own.
  2. I've started mine off with an experienced dog not only to watch the dog work but eventually to run with it and get a feel for it. She ran single after two runs with the older dog. Not sure if anyone else does that but it worked for me.
  3. Great pics, my youngest is crazy for the ferts too.

I'm the opposite of OCD, I need one of you loons to come here and clean my house, I'll ignore the lights going on and off
  5. yes i tort about using a long line but when he runs there no stopping him and hes going end up hurting himself if he runs about 15m out full pelt ? There are leads with shock absorbing cords in them and strong hendles by ezydog. It helps stop the jarring effect on your dogs neck and your shoulder. My link You can attach an extender to it.
  6. Just found the article on the study of speed in Borzoi My link
  7. Ther reason I found it interesting is when dealing with Lurchers that are mixed breeds of different extremes you can still use the head as a means of reference to the abilities of the dog. Sure when someone choses a mix with more running dog in it's line than anything else the odds are it will be faster but to be able to use the size of the head as reference when chosing a dog is a good idea.
  8. All right people move along there's nothing to see here
  9. I've read running dogs with a longer length between hips and rib cage are usually faster by a good percentage. I will have to find the paper again. It has many factors in it such as the losenes of the dogs skin, the height of its ears on its head and more. I think this is a very interesting article. My link
  10. I actually found it entertaining, thought provoking, something to get the old grey matter working. I enjoy a good debate Good for you Moll. Breaking the stereotypical mould of the Neanderthal hunter isn't easy. As we have discovered over the course of this thread. Making them think, hurts their brains, making them address their limitation, causes them to be come abusive and obstructive, making them face the realities of the modern world and how society sees, them causes them to retreat into the comfort of the familiar behavioural patterns where they feel secure and unchalleng
  11. Good luck with the bitch and pups, you could try offereing her some ice to keep her cool.
  12. sounds like an anit trying to seperate us, I wouldn't bother continuing a conversation with him.
  13. :search: Is he gone yet?
  14. Moll "Baiting" happens. Whether terriermen like it or not. The fact that it is such an emotive topic on both sides is simply unavoidable. The digging of foxes is equally emotive for a large number of people from many elements of society. In my defence whilst I have been accused of class snobbery I don't consider my self guilty. If you can find anywhere that I have singled out a particular class of society for comment please point it out. You'll have to forgive me in regards to the Danny character. I was never a reader of the Moochers forum. I hope that I have explained myself
  15. Isn't that his avatar on Moochers and Liams?
  16. He might be a brainbox but his spelling and grammar etc are piss poor,i think ......but who cares id never judge a man by his spelling. To be fair Magdon is probably making some interesting points if i could understanding more than half of what he,s on about.....he should realise that class/education/wealth have absolutely no relation to each other .....and none of them mean anything on the internet Speak proper English son like what we does ...its probably interesting reading. I'm just showing him even knuckle draggers like me know how to spell. What he believes makes him s

  24. This thread has been about many things. Thats just the way things go sometimes. It wasn't I who brought up the subject of coursing deer with longdogs. I merely answered a question posed.Bull baiting, cockfighting, infant child labour, and the common man dying regularly of typhus were all historical practices. Simply becos they use to happen doesn't give them a free pass in today's society. Using such a easily defeated arguement is what got you where you are today, banned, ostracised and deminshing in number year on year Fair enough. I have always held to the view that in regard to ethic
