    No I haven't had a saluki but when you hear enough about them from other people then you tend to believe it. I do have a collie even though he is very smart he will constantly test the boundaries and I have to always have a firm standing with him. No matter how old he gets I doubt it will change. He has a one track mind for birds. collies tend to be very focused. He's not very fast but he listens well and follows hand signals when bushing.

    It would be a good idea to walk him on the land in the day a few times before putting him on the lamp. There are plenty of people on here that think you can't call a dog off quarry so just make sure you don't run him near roads.

    Hitting the bush isn't for everyone but I wouldn't say it's a bad thing myself. The dog should know the land it's working. It sounds like you need to go back to basics and strengthen up your recall. Has the dog always been difficult on recall or is it just when lamping?

    Common sense would tell anyone not to have a dog running full tilt at a bar sticking out of the ground especially with a bend on it like that. Proper pulleys should be low to the ground and as safe as possible http://hem.passagen.se/coursing/index.htm Coursing is a great way to keep dogs fit and they enjoy it. I have fur on my line not plastic.

I don't see how I'm the jury since I don't report anyone. As long as I can help perspective buyers then I'll keep it up. Listen mate if you channeled this energy into your dogs or low and betide possibly a job then the sky is the limit for you fella I do
