  6. the problem more than lightly is at the hinge joint in the dogs mouth, heard of this happening in humans as well, it is solved by massage in humans, dogs sort out the problem them selfs, can effect the dogs hinge joint when he gets older, be interested to hear what your vet has to say on the matter.
  7. a dog sweats through his foot pads, he regulate his temp. by salivating through his tongue.
  8. Pre-ban in Ireland when there were two types of terriers "Sounders" and "Strong dogs" it seemed easier to pick up a sounder for the job required. Everyone knew what a "sounders" job was. Find,Bay and Stay. A small Russell would do the job well. After breaking through the sounder was lifted. The strong dog (Staff or Wheaten) came forward to do his job. It seems less clear from some posts what some people want a "sounder" to do. If I am reading it correctly there are guys who are trying to get an all in one dog. If they could breed a 20lb Wheaten or a 20lb Staff they would have the best

  12. when a fox is moving quickly his body gets warm and its scent will be stronger, a fox thats been hunted for hours gets tired the scent from him gets weaker, its then a fresh fox can lead the hounds astray as his scent is stronger, a fox that lies still can give off very little scent, i think what happened to you moby was when the fox came aware of you or the dog he then gave off some scent, so what you were saying was quite true, i could talk all night about foxes and badgers but i wont bore ye any more.
  13. no bull in it what did you do invent your own type of terrier.

  16. have had a few dogs fail me that were quite good one time, just shows how resilient the good ones are.
  17. first of all i take offence as to what my username may refer to , so what your saying is you have a proven working terrier that you work on game above ground ?? if usernames refered to what people are, then what does that make you ? i recall in one of your post you wanted to know what a lump under the dogs chin was, that about sums up all i need to know about what experience you have in the digging game, as for how long am i in the game, you keep putting up your brian plummer posts,( fiction with a large fantasy content) and you will see.
  18. sorry but i dont have time to reply to private messages.

  19. so what your saying is you have a terrier that did three days in ground with game, but if you had put in another terrier to ground behind him, he would come off the" game hes working" to fight the dog behind him, to be honest putting up a post asking what guys do with retired working terriers, is some thing a novice would do, working terriers that have spent most of there live been dug and live to 12 years old, are rear indeed, and when you get a terrier like that you dont have to come on an internet forum asking others there opinions, i think it speaks a lot also about the lads that back u
