Ireland Competitions At The Irish Game Fair
bowersey replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Albert if a complaint is made accusing a person running an lurcher as an unregistered whippet . What happens then is the person in question offered the chance of proving the breedind of the dog in question ? Or is up to to the complaintive to prove it is not whippet I suppose what I am asking is .Is it case of guilty until proved inocent ? .Or inocent until proved guilty ? Sammy -

Albert I for one as you know support the great gamefairs of Ireland But all we hear is referance to NILRC and the rules You are running the racing by these rules surely you have been given a copy of the rules A few of us would like to know what the rules are state on a few subjects such as who determines what is to run as a whippet ? If a someone has problem with a lurcher being too closly bred to a Greyhound etc etc.I have in the fourm asked the NILRC to discuss the rules. Not wanting to get anyone just asking the NILRC to be open and transprant. I think a lot of the problems in the NILRC is the fact hey as a club ( click) Refuse to be answerable to no one but themselves No matter what spotrt we take part in Has to be coverned by a set of rules The NILRC have rules but dispite being ask repeatly for them have yet to publish them There is people out there running shows by NILRC rule surely they have read a copy of the rules and would be good enough to post a copy I personaly have chose not to run any of my dogs in a show run by this group Until i know what the rules are ,Paulas you mentioned the AGM this club has a hanful of members -

It is definitly not the case Albert I for one and people like me have two whippets which double up on the lamp ferreting and are caged together look nothing like each other But are beat because there is folk that take litter mates which are simlar into the ring which are owned by different people. -

Now we have the puppy and veterans out of the mix on to the pairs should it not be a pair of dogs biches that are kennaled and hunt work together rather than two lurchers whippets that are alike and owened by different people. -

Think the same should be said for whippets a 6-7 year old should be in good enough nick to go into the dog or bitch class -

Exactly Tracey if your dogs can compete in with the young ones why do we need to have them in the veteran class why not simple have a dog class not agruing just a friendly debate excuse the spelling on the mobile eyes are not working too well in sunlight this screen is hard to see -

Matter of intrest Albert in bred shows do the verteran go into the final line up The way I see it if the veteran can mix it up with the working dog and win prehaps there is no need for the veteran class. The veteran winning says little about the quailty of the the younger dogs after all all 7 year old is not going to be as fit strong and as toned as the younger examples of the bred. Sammy -

Well done on running the KC whippets hope to see you there Sammy -
It would be a poor turn out at a show without the folk with the race bred dogs £3 into the handing class to tell who is the best walking a dog round a ring,
-
I think the gentle man ladies class and the handling class are a load of rubbish How does a judge judge the ability of a person handling a dog in 2 laps of a show ring with the dogs forced to walk at the pace of the handler in front? Witnessed a handler winning the handing class could not recall their dog after racing walking up and down the track calling their dog trying to get it leaded up . Back on to this post speeding up the racing showing have a time when the books are closed for the racing and stick to it .Folk will learn to be on time if they miss the entry time . Why not 4 sets
