"but not one of you can say honestly they were NOT worrying sheep, cos you were not there" I was & they weren't, they were just running through the land on scent, we went over on the quads to "get them back" to the huntsman has he was on foot. Having said that your 1st point is taken as valid hence why it is now in solicitors hands Good stuff Raynardman. I hope yous get justice. To hit a farmer, hit him where it hurts most, his pocket and if he has to compensate yous then it should send a message out to trigger happy folks. At the very least hopefully he'll loose his FAC as

West Wales/shotgunWas it a double barrel or a semi auto? If it is held on an FAC then it must be conditioned for use. I doubt it will have been conditioned for the protection of livestock. A possible avenue of investigation? Farmers do not have a legal right to shoot dogs. Shooting someone else's dog without their permission is criminal damage. What farmers do have is a defence in law against such a claim, if it can be proven that the dog was worrying livestock and there was no other way to prevent the worrying. Livestock worrying is defined as (a)attacking livestock, or (b)chasing live

I'm only gathering bits of this myself, it was the grandfather who was a member some 18 year ago, he has since passed away, so has the father, the son that shot the hounds is about 22/23 year old. I don't know of any history between both parties but it seems it's a family tradition has the father shot a neighbours collie some time ago. Police have called but are taking no further action, 2 hounds had to be taken to the vets, 1 is recovering well the other is 50/50 whether it will work again, a vets report has been obtained and a solicitor sort. Also there are some lads involved with the hunt

Everything was in order when the police called so nothing can be done, maybe the huntsman should have gone round and say he'd been threatened?

Out last Tuesday having a good time until the end of the day when 2 hounds came back with gun shot wounds, the rest were called back but unfortunately 2 didn't come in, a couple of lads went round to a nearby farm to find the 2 hounds laid dead on the yard with the farmer ranting for the huntsman. It's not the 1st time it's been done on this land and the farmer told the lads on leaving that he'd do it again. The father or grandfather to him were at one time paid members to the hunt. The police were informed & called at the farm but they were told the hounds were worrying sheep (which is b@

Anyone Found Charlie To Ground Yet?
raynardman replied to whitehackle's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Had 5 up to now, starting at 1st light & finished by dinner -
Always known it as 2 weeks between, then a week after the 2nd before taking out walking & it was often 10 & 12 weeks when having them, now they seem to be getting early with em. Vet where I take mine were up for jabbing the pups at 8 week when I had them chipped but I reneged because they told me the 2nd jab would be another 4 week.

Night vision picks any light source up, I use an IR laser illuminator which can't be seen with the naked eye but looking through night vision it looks how a normal lamp would in the fields. I have a IR cctv camera in the garden and was in the fields up on an hill 500+ yards opposite, looked down on the house through the NV & the garden was lit up. It has a lens cover on it with a small darkened glass window so the unit can be turned on in daytime but never tried it to see if it would pick IR up
