  2. All depends on the temprament on your dogs, if they have no problems working with dogs, other than your own in the fiields then you are half way there, take them for a walk in on some land you hunt let them run loose your dogs will be to buzy hunting to take notice, walk them back home together, common sense from there, Nobody with any sense would take a dog home without proof that they are up to date with there jabs, or take a pup out before theyve had there jabs
  3. NICE LOOKING DOG, RIGHT AGE, HARD WORK IS DONE, HOPE IT LANDS IN GOOD HANDS
  4. He was a rabbiting dog, And that was his purpors, but run and killed fox when we come across them on the lamp, I Did not go with the lamp especialy for fox, He was used for ferreting, He was also used on Top when terriers were to ground on fox, for bolters, and for terriers boltig fox out of cover, As for how many fox in one night 3 the most, and a bag full of rabbits, The most in a week, I would lying to make a guess, never counted in a season, Like i say he was a rabbiting dog, I ran him on a fox when he was 18 mounths old, he took hold and the fox put a fang through his mussel he yelped, th

  12. the moral to this is, that other types of lurcher can and do take fox, there is so much hype on here bullx this bullx that, a 70/80 pound dog to a 14/18 poound fox, I like my dogs to be more than one trick ponys, to lamp fox at night and ferret with the same dog next the morning a good all round lucher, Every man to his own
  13. BUT...the ones that do it regulary...and have mastered the art of dispatch...lol,do it very well One of the best if not the best fox killers i have seen is a old English seepdog x greyhound on the lamp and hunt up his fox by day he whould dispatch his fox in a couple of shakes and the job was done I had a 3/4 that was a great on fox and when you get a good one they're a sight to see, I'm not saying they don't do it because they do. I was just saying how the bull x's have been the dog of choice of more recent times. I like to hunt a bit of everything so I use collie x's they tend to

  15. All depends what you are looking for in a dog brains or brawn, There's a dog by me ..typical youngs lads dog...never been got fit..just straight out of its pen into the truck and run on anything and everything...the dogs 6 now and still a machine..the dog was worked 5 or 6 nights a week....I never seen a dog like it...there's a few respected lads on hear that have seen claud in action..he's a collie x with no bull blood in him at all... I personally prefer a dog that can multi task and not a one trick pony, that why people keep 5/6 dog in there kennels

  17. Was mentioned on here that a collie cross could not do his job night after night, for a start if the weather conditions are not right to lamp you would not be out, well not myself any way,But to get the best out of your dogs they need to be worked and fed well to build stamina which this dog had plenty of. Some of the land i work is a lot of cover specially gors bush,The terrier would bolt them out,it was as tho they read each others minds, he was never far from were charly would bolt,And if the terrier went to ground in cover he would show me were she was,He was also used as an anchor dog in h
  18. thats wat it seems like matti dont get me wrong i hav nothing against bull xs i even hav a bull x bitch myself i just think alot of lads think collie xs are soft but wat they lack in brute strength they make up for in brains most collie xs figure out how to kill foxs without getting caught spot on
  19. you hear bull x this & bull x that taking foxes, but the best I have owned is first x collie, he would take fox day & night all single handed, he would carry a rabbit back to hand alive then kill a fox in the same field,a good all round lucher.
  20. have you still got the beddy,s. yes
