Does anybody know of a good gunsmith around the north midlands. I've got a 12b browning silver mendalist trap gun with fixed full/3/4 chokes but I am thinking to have it bored to 1/2 and 1/4 so I can use it for game. Its not worth a great deal but its too good to scrap
I always use fibre cartridges and find the cheapest. Anything from 24g for clays upto 56g magnums for fox's in my cheap little hatsan escort semi auto. Its horses for courses and fun finding out.
I've just heard that the police have arrested 4 youths aged 20+ for the killing of the " swans and 6 cygnets. So the law can act fast if it wants to. Hopefully they get a stiff sentence but i imagine the anti's will start soon.
I understand what AndyFR1968 is saying but we don't need theses idiots to keep dragging us down with them. Surely we can sort something out to put our side of things?
He loved it and it did him a lot off good and met some really strong friends but he ended up working in sainsbury's because there were very few jobs at thst time. So you have done well.
I think that through this excellent forum we could set up some sort of committee of representatives in each area to co-incide with the organisations to push for more education instead of legislation. I know I am shouting my mouth off but I firmly believe in my sport and wish to protect it
I have not done a course due to the fact I am classed as ancient but my son trained as a gamekeeper at rodbaston College in Staffordshire. So that is why I wish anybody who is starting out in keepering all the very best.
In my local paper it has been reported that 2 adult swans and 6 cygnets have been shot and killed with an air rifle. Of course the RSPCA have jumped on the band wagon as usual demanding tighter legislation on "Air Weapons" It is time that we started to stand up more for ourselves and rid our beloved sport of these idiotic morons so that it does not give the Anti lobby an excuse for attempting to ridicule our sport and passion.
Well done for choosing a career in game keeping. I wish had done it years ago. Have you been in touch with a local agri college? they may be able to have you on day release. Also find a local trainer for your lab get get sound advice from him.
