  1. best thing to do is contact your local firearms licence unit and ask them. As I understand you can use any one who has a proffesional standing like vicar, lawyer,etc. I used my local parish councillor and was excepted with no problems. Good Luck

  9. Welcome to the forum. I think it is better that you visit a shooting ground and start to learn the basics first. You cannot just go and hire a gun from somewhere and go shooting.

  11. BASC regional office is at Doveridge clay ground. If you are a member then give them a call and see what they suggest. You can try Countryside Alliance as well. it might even be worth contacting hunting and shooting mags and explain yourself like you have on here. We need to keep youngsters like yourself interested in field sports so our sport does not die out. So please be persistant and keep going. GOOD LUCK MATE
  12. Welcome to the forum mate. Have you thought about asking if you can tag along with an older hunter? Join one of the shooting organisations and ask thier regional officers
  13. I usually buy 30g + no 6's fibre wad for game and anything cheap for clay, I tend to stick to express, but it what suits you and you can have fun trying out different ones

  18. Welcome to the forum. Have you tried contacting the Albrighton Hunt? or you could try the North Staffs and the Meynell and South Staffs Hunts. Good Luck
  19. Hi Mate, All I can say is keep it basic, start of with a few decoys out in a horse shoe pattern about 20-25yds out from your hide facing the wind. Make sure your hide is sound and you are showing no skin that the incoming birds will see. Let a few birds drop in first before shooting at them. Also take time to observe where the birds are feeding, I set up about 1030 - 1100 in the morning because they are getting hungry again after the first feed of the day (Dawn usually) You could always ask one of the syndicate to show you the ropes as well.
