The main thing is that they are secure.Brick and block is best , not only to keep the dogs in, but to keep the scum out !!! -
austalian formula , puppy food
stubblebasher replied to coursing_lad's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Australian formula is probably the best of the greyhound complete feeds but agree with you jamie nowhere near the same quality as eukanuba. Does eukanuba containe creatine though ? -
I agree mate .The type of dog you speak of i have also owned ,a true allrounder , excellent at night ,and has also won daytime matches . They do exist and they all have saluki blood .

i hope you do have a good dog but you need to be matching next january, and in better places than blankney, woodhall spa, newark !!! ( farm fields ) there`s a hat full of lads that will race you next january, don`t miss the oppotunity to take them on Is the fens not farm fields???? now its fields you run a hare on tills you if you have good dog or not come off it. no pal, the fens are not farm fields, farm fields means large or small fields, farm fields have hedges, spinneys, hills, woods, gates and fences fens have none of those so the dog has to stick or get blown away for a

Pure Saluki dog, to Pure Whippet bitch? worth it.
stubblebasher replied to KenKeeping's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I didnt mean salukis are brain dead , and they r the opposite to a burner ! They are willfull but inteligent , and tend to work for themselves rather than you. When crossed with a greyhound your gaining more speed but they seem to lack sence , style, and coursing ability. First crosses run like greyhounds but with a bit more stay .Put a saluki to a good allround lurcher, then your talking about something different -
Why do you think you will never see any like them again ? Rather a defeatist attitude, Cheers. T hey were dogs you only come across 1 in a life time, most people slip there dogs. These were never on a slip hunted them up coursed and killed big numbers for a half bred they were special. Yeah they sound good ! Big numbers killed !Hunted up , double handed !Probably in tuffty grass paddocks in september ! YEAH THEY WERE DOUBLED UP BUT IN NOV ,DEC ,JAN. Well thats alright then !!!

Pure Saluki dog, to Pure Whippet bitch? worth it.
stubblebasher replied to KenKeeping's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Go for it mate , you have got a lot better chance of getting something decent, than if you put him to a greyhound .Recent coursing history will tell you that. i would rather put him on a good greyhound a bit more size and speed if feathered will have a good all rounder good ones are few and far between ! Most are brain dead burners -

Is it best 3 slips and is there rules??? like no kick ups etc etc yes s.k won it one of the dogs in it had been to england several times over the winter killed 6 and seven on a couple of outings p.n said it was one of the best he ever seen this was bet in the semi final their are rules and it is 3 slips Its good to here that d

Same as that

Im not disputing they dont catch hares, but can you honestly say your bitch could consistently kill 3s, on the fen, single handed , out on the seed ,when its wet, in january , not plough bashed to bump the score up ?? If so can you give me Dave Platts number

Are you still running deerhounds on big ears or have you moved onto salukis ? When was the last time a deerhound won a match? I Cant remember the last time a deerhound x won an obedience comp against collie xs, or a race against whippet greyhounds or anything against anything for that matter ! s.b you know coursing and I know coursing, i have no intention of comparing a deerhound greyhound against a saluki lurcher at daytime coursing, the saluki lurcher is unbeatable at the job fact! but as coursing is on its arse now these dogs could well be of more value too many as more and more drift

Its common kmowledge that deerhounds have a shorter working life than other crosses. Name me one aspect of lurcher work where they excel over other other types .As stated earlier they need to be mixed with more than just greyhound.
-
Deerhound greyhounds were big in the 70s, but they ve been out of fashion for years and for good reason! thats bollocks that ,you get the right 1 and their as good as anyx ,and they is quite a good few decent lines still going They re slow to start and quick to stop !

was that filmed just befor they slipped two bull crosses on it ?

baldocks always been hot. I drive through the banks every day no one runs them. perhaps its because the hares are too easy ? !because a few travelling men rate the dog it doesent make him the real deal. could you imagine a race horse never winning a race and going to stud ? Then people making big statements like hes as good as RED RUM !! !! Thats the exact same as saying hes better than laddie or luckie ! or a fighter never fighting for a belt but saying hes better than RAY ROBINSON. CHAMPIONS STEP UP TO THE MARK. Its not a few travelling men rate the dog but some off the best
