Always prided myself in getting into the minds of my dogs, on the very day I lost Nell, the pup came into season, what a transformation in her, from a boisterous pup, to now a steady and calm pup, Im no dog whisperer, but could it be she is missing Nell, is it her season that's calmed her down, couple of weeks back, I was having difficulty with recall with her, now ive only gotta look at her and shes by my side, shes up my arse every woken moment, im not complaining, I love it, I have bonded with her and she has bonded with me. wishing my life away here, but cant wait for the winter months, ju

  3. First ever on a one to one basis with my pup proper flush and catch in the open, worked the hedgerows like a goodun. out into the open field, ive put a couple of runs in front of her, but she now knows the buggers don't just run in a straight line, so I told her, good dog , that ones for NELL
  4. Was hoping I would spend the rest of my days with another decent dog, she worked well today, I could have made her day today with a ferret, I hate to see a dog marking , and not obliging , still, plenty of time for that,
  5. been out all weathers, but had the sun on our backs today, and was welcoming, looking forward to autumn and winter months, I think she will do me proud, in the short time ive had her, shes had a good teacher, and it aint me
  6. still very much a pup, and has been a handful at times, but calm is the way forward with me, shes settled down a treat now

Took penny out for a couple of hrs, second time in the field with her on a one to one, just to see what she is capable of and her attitude in the field, very pleased I am with her, she circled this wood like a goodun, I just stood there and watched, out come this bunny, she missed it, but worked well, im happy with that, I also take a ferret out with me, very rarely do I ferret this time of year, but ive a pup to bring on, I was in some thick undergrowth, and she marked,so I obliged her with a ferret, out the out the bugger came, and the way she ploughed through the undergrowth made my day, sh

For me to sit here offering many thanks to you all for your kind words, just doesn't seem enough, its nice for me to know that over the years, you have enjoyed my days out in the field with Nell, if I hadn't got a pup to bring on, I would certainly have called it a day, but like ive said before, I still seek adventure, not dementia, Socks, hope your dog is on the mend , my last on Nell now folks, shes gone but I will never ever forget her, ive lost my best pal atb keith RIP NELL

Hey up lads, had lunch and thought id get my head down for a while. yesterday has left me drained, but one trick the pup has picked up from Nell, is the time of day, she wanted out, so put my feelings aside , and off out we went for an hr, she misses Nell, having run with her since I got her, and on two occasions, just stood there whining, I have the pics, she also came into season yesterday , thought perhaps I could put a bunny up in front of her, but nowt doing, my heart wasn't really into it, she enjoyed herself,thats the main thing

  11. skycat, like I said, I let her out this morning for a wee. now you can believe this or not, but on her way back in, she looked at me full in the eyes, and I new she was asking for help, cheers keith
  12. to much protein flowing through her entire body, even her back legs where beginning to fill up with fluids, I couldn't let her suffer any more, even the pup new summat was wrong the times ive had with Nell are unbeleavable, my escape now, will be tonight, I need to be on my own for a while and reflect back on times in and out the field with her, get it out my system which will take some time for me, RIP Nell hope ive done right by you

  14. shes gone lads, up at 6 30 this morning, let her out for a piss, poor thing hobbled outside in the pouring rain on 3 legs, carrying her back left, that's it time for more help, was with her at the vets at 8 30, blood test xrays onset of cancer and liver failure, looked her in the eyes said many thanks for being a good pal to me, and put to sleep at 18 minutes past eleven theres much more I could say about her but at the moment, im absolutely drained, what a lovely faithful pal I have lost,
