    hi , i have red factors and red/black cobalt plus greens and yellows non recessive white and mosaics , have you been on the ccba homepage ( canary colour breeders association ) they have lots of examples of lipochrome and melanin canaries plus lots of useful info , my breeding cages are painted sky blue inside and show up the birds lovely hope this helps , atb simon

    hi all and thankyou for everyones advice while i was deciding on what to get with my birthday and xmas money , i decided to buy a new hw99 with hawke sport hd 3-9 x 50 scope and also got a tracer ledray 100 with filters , 500 air arms diablo pellets and pack of paper targets and a gun bag . all for £330 the scope was fitted to the gun for me and the service i recieved from the guys at countrystore in sawston , cambridgeshire was excellant . just need lots of practice now as not used to shooting a .22 ,

    hi guys just been informed that i am to be getting cash for xmas off of most of my family to put towards a new rifle , im hoping to have around £500 to spend but this would need to include everything , filling kit and scope etc . i would love to be able to get a hw100 but whatever i get needs to be either left handed or ambidextrous , local shop has a daystate ph6 for £325 ( are these any good ) my question is because i have no experience with a pcp is there anything i need to be careful of if i buy one secondhand , it will be bought face to face so i can see it working but is it

    thanks guys one shop tried selling me the hatsan stiker but think i would rather get a hw , have £250 saved at the mo and waiting to see what i get for xmas as to what my budget will be

    cheers skot , my local shop has the hw99 brand new for £220 so might get that but on a couple of reviews there is mention of the cocking lever gouging the air chamber , has anyone come across this ?

    thanks guys , i do like the idea of a pcp but i am a bit worried about buying a used one in case it goes wrong ( are they expensive to fix if it does go tits up ) thanks secretagentmole , did take a look at them and read the reviews but one review said neighbours would not want to listen to them for long so i presumed they were loud thats why i was looking at the silenced hw95 and hw97 and the left handed stock option takes the 99 upto £389 at the airgun centre. thanks gosling , i have just registered as i couldnt get on what you were showing me so hopfully will see it soon

    hi all , i have just had my birthday and people gave me money instead of presents to buy a new gun . it will be used for shooting rabbits at night with a scope mounted lamp but also needed for the occasional rat or magpie / pigeon that wanders into my garden ( they seem to like the chickens feed and my aviary ) now my dilema is do i get a brand new hw95 or hw97 tactical as need one that can be shot left handed or do i risk buying a pcp secondhand and hope it lasts . as my budget is tight a springer would have to stay untuned until i save enough to get it done . dont want to waste

    thanks guys , i have been shooting for a few years on and off , never had a pcp or done shooting with a lamp but fed up of sitting in of an evening with crap on telly .

    hi all , looking to get a air rifle that will mostly be used at night with a scope mounted lamp mainly rabbits and the occasional rat ,still undecided as to whether pcp or spring ( depends how much i get for my birthday ) . my question is what would be the best calibre to get , a shop near me has a bsa superstar in .25 would this be anygood any advice welcome

    morning all , turns out it was a pottsy rat after all , caught the little shit in a trap baited with one of the finches . think my birds will be staying in cages from now on and the traps set 24/7

    hi paulus ,i did think rat at first but the rat traps have been set in the safety porch area where the mouse was half eaten when in the trap but nothing caught and its been a week ,i have usually caught them in 3 or 4 days in the past

    thanks for all the advice guys , the remaining canaries are now in a large cage in the house and the finches are in cages suspended from the aviary roof . The thing is i actually think weasles are rather cute but its gotta go . a garden centre near me sell the funnel entrance traps so will check them out tomorrow tried getting some glue traps today but nowhere near sells them anymore. will keep you updated as to how i get on

    hi all , got visited by a weasel overnight and lost most of my canaries and finches ,most just bit on the back off the head and piled in a corner with a couple in a nest box , i have had baited rat traps both live and snap traps down as found a part eaten mouse in a mouse trap but nothing caught and no birds lost till last night . so what is the best trap to catch this little demon . cheers in advance
