  8. the saluki went after the whippet the whippet had ago back then the saluki grabbed him by the neck and dragged him into the cornfield once seperated the saluki wasnt interested , the whippet was neutered when aged around 2 and has fathered a litter of pups , he still tries it on when the bitch is in season and they still get knotted , the saluki was done at 10 months old , they are alot better together now but still not going to let my guard down , thanks for everyones advice
  9. hi whiterabbit , it is a lot quieter than the hw99 i had when standing away from it but still quite loud in your ear when firing it if that makes sense .

  11. had 4 more woodys today , wish i bought the hw99 in .177 as thats the only calibre i have ever used but thought i would try .22 but the stoeger is i think a half decent gun for the money that i can shoot with more accuracy than i could the hw
  12. yesterday they sat on the sofa together only for about an hour or so , we have been taking them out together but the saluki is now muzzeld and they are not let off to run together only seperately i think jimmy is still wary , tommy tries to sniff his stitches and seems to want to know whats wrong with his mate but we are constantly with them and they are never left alone together hopefully things will get back to normal just have to wait and see
  13. thanks chook1 , just taking it steady at the moment and seeing how things go .
  14. thanks skycat , dont mind them not being able to play and when on walks the saluki will now be muzzeld and they will only be allowed off when the other one is back on the lead , what i need is help with ways of getting the whippet x to be comfortable in the house with the saluki x in the same room otherwise i may have to look at rehoming the saluki x or having him pts , which would devastate the wife and kids ( me also a little bit ) but just dont have the room to keep them seperate permamently
  15. just had my first kill after a couple of weeks target shooting a woody sat on a branch 63 paces away (not good at estimating distances ) with my new rifle , its a stoeger x20 suppressor .177 i know its not the best gun in the world but i couldnt get used to judging distances with the .22 hw99s i bought myself for xmas so swapped it for the stoeger as it was the only thing i got offered in .177 it may not shoot as smooth but so far so good
  16. thanks beast , jimmy the italian is very wary at the moment and doesnt want to be in the same room as tommy the saluki x which is acting as if nothing has happened and wants to be with jimmy . hopefully they will both get over this as both are family pets .
  17. thanks skycat , they are both male and both neautered , the italian x whippet is really placid and has been babied by my son the saluki x is more boisterous but has never bitten the others , both of them bow down to my wifes shih-tzu bitch .
  18. thanks guys , had the italian / whippet 5 years and the saluki/grey 2 the saluki used to chase the other when on walks but grew out of it this is the first fight they have had and thgey usually get fed at the same time as my other dogs no problems . will keep them seperate for now , thanks again
  19. hi all , out walking my dogs this evening and our saluki / grey has ripped my italian greyhound x whippets neck now these dogs live together in our house and are usually fine , they were both running and the saluki x went for the whippet x who had a go back then the saluki x got the other by the neck and would not let go . i know the italian / whippet is thin skinned and rips easily but it does look a mess and the dog is proper sorry for himself i have rung the vets but he said he doesnt want to see him till morning . my question is how likely is it that the saluki will attack him again i d
