Nice one lads an lasses, im thinking about getting one, iv toyed with the idea on and off for a while. My little bitch has alway had K9 company and i think a whippet would suit my needs well. Is there a visible phyisical difference between workers and show bred stuff? I saw a whippet last night with a pronounced arched back and a really, really deep chest, Im no whippet expert and I just wondered if these almost exaggerated features ment it was more show bred??

Please can any lads running pure whippets bang some pics up. Im particularly interested in side on pictures showing depth of chest and shape of the back. Also any info on the line the dog is from and height and weight. Im guessing they will all be laguna and sooty sam lines Cheers lads.

How old is she? Breeding off her that should stop the phantoms, what if she turns out to be the best thing since sliced bred and you want a pup of her in the future? and she has been spade?

Iv had both, dogs with and dogs without, and one dog that had one!!! The only time they have ever caused any trouble is when i ran my dog on really rough ground, and he knocked one up and it made him lame, but he recovered I don't think they are as big an issue as people make out unless a dog has really damaged one, as it sounds like runforyourlife's has, then they need shifting. lurchers can injure there tails, does that mean they should be docked?? -

Depends what you mean by best? Iv had dogs that were good honest workers and iv had dogs not so good..... But they have been good in other ways, I had one which was as hard as nails and just plain funny to work. I used to end up laughing my head off at him. He was missing a gear for hares but would literally run himself to exhaustion trying. I admired that.(only accidental hares mind it didnt slip him on them intentionally) He once took a stock fence down because he hit it so hard and still ran the hare. ItS not clear from what iv written above, but it was my brothers car we were in he was also with me and a friend was with us too. My brother will be calling the police tomorrow, at the least its threatening behaviour. Cheers Lads.

Been out for a stroll this evening and my pup got off the lead (collars too big) and got into a field. No amount of coaxing would fetch her out so i went into get her thats when i noticed a tractor parked up. I got the bitch back and went back to the footpath. 20 mins later I was having a sit down whilst the bitch had a drink when the bloody helicoper appeared over me. It stayed for about 2 mins just hovering then left. I walked back to the car park and met a chap who said a farmer was looking for a fella with a dog, I.E me.
