As some of you may remember i "rescued" if you like, a Brittany pup about 6 wks ago from a horrible house. Well she is nearly 12 weeks now and fully jabbed up. She is house trained, starting to understand the "sit" command, walks well on the lead and comes to her name like a good un. I intend to rough shoot over her when she is older, maybe do some picking up and hopefully work her with my lurcher finding game. Iv got some questions if anyone can help me out? Iv ordered a 210.5 whistle....... fella who works springers told me thats what he uses. Is that the right sort of whistle? Is it

Can anyone help me track the above bitch down? I rehomed her with a guy from the midlands but iv lost his number. I think he intended to breed an airedale cross. The bitches name is Bonnie she is 25" ish and dark brindle. Please PM if anyone knows where she is, I need to speak to her owner. Cheers Dave.

I was asked if i had a dog (meaning a spaniel or lab) , I mention my lurcher and jaws hit floors......It was funny. Later we were talking about Muckboots I siad them only thing i dont like about them is..... and i had to stop myself saying 'keepers can see the reflective bit at the back on the lamp when your running away... It was an eye opener my first driven day

Alright lads, Im a lurcher man but since i was a kid iv had a fasination with birds of prey. Iv got several mate/aquaintances who fly birds and iv been offered the oppotunity to see them fly on several occassions but its never come off. I live in west yourkshire but would be happy to travel a reasonable distance to watch a bird fly im really interested if they are worked with dogs or ferrets. If anyone can help me out please get intouch. Im a decent sort of fella and would'nt mess about with people permissions. Cheers Dave.

No she has like a half tail, half of the pups in the litter had bob tails. my daughter has called her maggie! I wanted Tess...... Terrys, time will tell mate. all i can do is try her. Cheers for the replies Fellas.

Iv gone for the Brittany, She is 7 weeks. She will needs lots of energy to manage the days out hunting.... Im hoping to use her to flush for the gun and retrive, to ferret and to find game for the lurcher... She has had a rough start but now she is coming out of hereslf.

Iv got a very short rescue story because the pup is not 8 wks old yet...... You may have seen my other post? She was a tiny, weak stinking pup with long sharp claws and her white coat was matted with her own filth to the point where no other markings could be made out on her, Also she had some "guests" both in her coat and in her gut, making her itchy and bloated to where she could only manage a mouthful of food at a time. And her eyes ran constantly. That was Sunday!!! 4 washes with flea shampoo, a massive dose of worming syrup (I have never seen so many worms, she left a squerming mass

Iv spoke to the local enviromentail health about it, im not posting details on here because i don't think they want the dogs to suffer i think they just cant cope.

I need some advice, Iv been to look at a few litters of puppies lately and the last one i went to really raised alarm bells. It was a complete shithole to be honest, The owners would'nt let me in the house and after seeing the flea bites on their legs and fleas pinging off them I would have declined anyway. But what got me was the shear number of dogs they had in there, all full of fleas with runny eyes and covered in shit. All had nails like witches so i suspect they dont leave the house. I know pups make a mess iv had them, iv seen it and cleaned it. but this was something else. I fe

How old is the pup? Im guessing if he is getting adult teeth he must be 5 or 6 months??? I don't think weeabix are suitable for a pup of that age they are ok for weaning but i don't use them even then, Give him plenty of quality dry food soaked if he prefers, or good raw meat as you are doing. I feed mine rabbit carcasses less the guts and skin but some people leave the skin on If he is a healthy active pup he wont let himself starve. He needs plenty of safe chewing material to help loose them baby teeth

Im after a bushing dog to help move game for my lurcher, Iv been offered a Brittany spaniel, I know people shoot birds over them and they are used for falconary as they point. What do you lads think, would it be a suitable breed for my needs?
