    HI to all, as any one got any ideas why some greyhounds are faster than others, at the end of the day there all greyhounds right? but its obviouse there not, a man i know says Irish bred dogs are better or should i say faster, i dont know if that statement is true or not. Any way why are some greyhounds faster than others?

    millet you muppet read my post i said id bet you the RABBITS would be slower and bigger, WILF, millet has a problem with me saying dales rabbits are slower, this is fact nothing to do with land walls dykes hedges if you've done what you say, you would know, i can assure you my local rabbits are faster than the dales ones i was born into the game and at 35 still 100% at it, i dont talk shit and i am more than willing to prove this, its up to you take me up we will get a independent witness then you can eat your words, INFACT ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE THE INDEPENDENT PERSON JUST SAY i carnt do fair

    i tell you what then millet, your more than welcome to bring your dog down here and run my local rabbits after catching a few we will go up the dales and catch the same amount, weigh them and then you tell me there the same speed, i challenge you in fact if you want we can have a wager on it, take my offer if your so sure you know more than me

    I carnt comment for the above but i can comment on the dales and collie xs, a good collie x will catch any were on any land as for the dales just because they might have stone walls round some fields doesnt mean they bounce off walls the dales rabbit may be larger and slower but most know were there going and hit home at top speed or go over them, im no minshaw expert but im sure the origanal stuff was not famed for collie blood but if im wrong im sure ill be corrected

    the last catty i had i was 13 it was a black widow lol but i dont know owt about them mate to say if you'd make them or not out of roe antlers i looked at your other post nice looking hound that you've got go out and get your own lol

    on a shoot day ive seen spaniels mark show intrest on a tuffed of heather and ive kicked it and nothing came out but this dog would not leave it, i had to peel it off the ground and the rabbit was right under the root sat tight,my old dog used to hunt like a shark a proper preditor used to be amazing to watch great sport

    you can get them on e bay but these are no good for cattys im going to make two sticks but the thought of somone carving a head and inserting these did cross my mind to make a nice sculpter

    we go out on a sunday myself with one dog and my mate with two,its all heather and white ground, grass land with rushes ect ,we split up walk around putting bunnies up all lurchers and get 30 to 40 in the biggining then 20 to 25 now every week 8 til 1. however if i go local i can go out all day and will be lucky to get one, more chance to see a hare.

    Any one had any sightings or heard of any tails of big cats, i mean the panther types not a fat ginger tom, my mate said he saw one about 14 years ago we all took the piss, then about 3 months later one had been seen about 20 miles away it was on the radio so we took him serious then a farmer on the same land said 2 young lads ran into his farm yard crying because a black cat had came out the bushes and circled them, this was all some time ago but i was reading the paper today and sightings seem to be coming more frequent. there taking d,n,a from a carcass to see if they can tell for definate

    the airdale is a nice thing to have in a hound my mates got one with airdale whippet x beddy greyhound squats em like fly's nice going bud i bet put a smile on your boat race

    I have my batterys in a bag across my chest in a army drivers pouch its so you can get in and out of a motor without having the bats around your waist or in a bag behind you, because there higher up my lamp wont hit the ground makes the bats more comfey too dont pull your kex down lol

    Lets face it you buy with your eyes, and a young lad in a mans world will go for a mascullin looking dog like a bull than a beddy whippet, shame cos if i was starting up and wanted to take a chance on a worker one of the other types like a beddy or collie x is were id take my chances, id only ever go for a bull out of a reputable strain,at the end of the day a running dog has to be able to run. its all about supply and demand and people will capitalise on this by breeding bulls x to make money, its a shame how 1 cross can seem to draw in the ill informed

    Hi to all heres some pics of me and my mate out ferreting and mouching about, my dog started marking the walls this day so we decided to ditch the nets and just cement this new talent and walk the walls checking the warrenes on the way,all was going well intill i knocked a wall topping which landed on his hand from about 5 foot,i was passing the ferret over and this stone must have just been resting on the top down it came,it wouldn't have been that bad but his hand was resting on another stone ouch! anyway got the rabbit but my mate wasn't impressed broken finger and a skiing trip planned n

    Yes im as suprised as you unless you allready know this,i got my bull x pup at 6 weeks old and just got it for lamping mainly, but i like to do all aspects of bunny catching so she came with me on my ferreting outings, she is very keen and i worried for my ferrets saftey, lots of breaking as a pup paid off thoe best friends! well i started to show her the ropes and she picked it up really well a good solid marker,with a nose second to none, steady around the burrys but with a very quick response to the ones that bolt or miss the nets.she has just started marking the walls which i find is great

    Without a doubt it will be hard to do the ton but as i said the land i have i know this is acheivable, i worked out 5 spots twenty a spot if you chose your runs most would be sitters on a good night or at least short runs, i know my dogs and was told this guys dog was fit and a good lamper, also it helps to do the job right and give your dog the best chance, we searched to find a spot to lamp snow free after we found this about 2 hour 41 rabbits, like i said the guy was far keener than me as im no numbers man both dogs had some wind left but i was going just take the cream off each spot, so th

    JUST read page 2 thanks chauk warren i dont do numbers normal in fact i dont count, my mate postie will back me up on this as he is my text book friend and what i mean buy this is he puts it all in a book and im allways nervouse when he turns out because of this. but just of late natural england have been on the keepers back so its a case of get more or the box traps go in wich does do the job, its all about the dogs for me nothing els just love to be out with my dogs and watch others i allways see poeple getting shot down on here for somthing or nothing im new to the forum game and enjoy the

    giro, the best day was by my mate and a few freinds he got 100 ferreting i dont do big numbers normally i consider my best night 21 rabbits in just over 30 mins nomal days just walking about on the tops from 8 til 12, 30-40 every time ,but its not like this now i have over 10,000 acre and i say catching rabbits up there is like trawling for fish, weather and other things make them move about i do have some hot spots thoe which i do when all els fails, running dogs hard is allways going to be tough and fair play to any man woman who has a dog doing this but my old dog could do 30 odd on the la
