  1. When u say you always been taught to only breed from the best, do you mean breed from the best bloodlines or the best dogs which have actually gone out hunting for six or seven years and stuck to their job? If it's the latter how do we get these dogs? If it's the first how do we get to find out if there the best bloodlines?
  2. 1/8 will make a difference but you may not notice it. How?
  3. Good gesture mate, why isn't this pinned like them others?
  4. and i dont think a bullx can kill a daytime hare bull x probably cant ,just like saluki x cant kill fox,,,,,,,, I've seen plenty of saluki crosses doing them single, did you have a saluki cross that couldn't do them? I don't. Think he has any dogs doing anything
  5. Had one all black with four red feet,it even had a black tip on it's tail
  6. What I'm saying is there might be reports of scousers in the area robbing, but that don't mean they wer robbing dogs, I don't know of one thief who'd rob a dog, and no lurcher or terrier man would have a robbed dog in their kennels, who I know. If they knew of someone robbing dogs theyd be the first to get it sorted,a lot of good dogmen from lpool mate if you don't know that you don't know shit about working dogs.
  7. Dave ye wanker, scousers might be goin there on the rob,but they don't rob dogs ye prick, people like u chat tin shit won't help get them back. I bet if any scouse dog man knew wer they wer theyd be back now, an punishment would be served like in no other town! There's robbing and there's dog robbing two completely different things, run if they in lpool mate ye will get told no problem.
  8. Just a question, no survey haha.do you like to bring a lurcher pup on on it's own? Or with another maybe more eperienced dog? I like to bring them on,on there own lamping but try to get them out with other dogs daytime to socialise them,I think when ye learning them to lamp it's best to let them learn by themselves as there is so much to learn to become a good lamper,ye dog needs that time when young to learn, bringing other dogs long can be a pain even if the other dog knows it's job,ye young dog be distracted by them rather than learn from them I think.
  9. " I always said if there was a rabbit and a fox on a field he would choose the fox" I like that mate, most saluki crosses that do or did kill foxes pre ban have a certain hate for them, I seen this in a few saluki crosses.like I said before, if ye do get one that kills foxes ye have the right dog for the job
  10. I lamped foxes for many years pre ban,got to see most crosses work,my mate had coursing dogs,he used to say to me our Charlie he'd do you ,he catches foxes he hates them, one night he came out with us,brought Charlie,we got five fox an three water deer,Charlie got the lot, I been looking for a dog like Charlie since,he was saluki greyhound didn't miss a thing that night,I have tried a couple of saluki bull greys since but the wer nothing like Charlie, I'd love one the same as him but ye taking more of a chance bringing a saluki x on for fox,he probably will let u down, ye get good fox dogs in
  11. Rattings one of the best days out you can have,I'd travel anywhere with some of my mates just to hear their screams haha I like to take a couple of the lads who don't get out, it's comical they think Wer nuts haha they love it though, the story about the day changes by time ye home,to their was millions, bigger than the dogs, one attacked me haha can't beat it.I got some coming up myself, some pheasant feeders an a few setasides to clear should be fun
  12. Same as mate, but some permission comes at a price ie loads of hassle.
  13. Some of my mates won't have permission, they say it causes too much grief haha falling out with other dogmen is there main concern, this is my land stay away and all that, haha or when it's their permission they think there being like police asking people to stay off their land haha they say it's better off arguing with the police if ye unlucky enough to get caught. Has having permission on certain places caused you a headache?
  14. Hello mate,I try to visit local sand dunes as much as poss while they young, plenty of rabbits on there for them to chase and it really helps steady ye dog,
  15. why do u want to know this ? I was just wandering how many people who work dogs had to travel to get the best from their dogs like I have ,and why do we keep dogs bred for working certain quarry if that quarry isn't even available in your surrounding area? I do it because I love to see dogs doing what their bred for. So if I had dogs capable of catching larger stuff which isn't in the countryside around here I'd go an hunt one down wherever it was haha so, you`r doing a survey ? No I'm doing a scouse bird name jackie haha an she`s doing your mate tyrone haha An wh
