  1. Hi sorry I have not replyed before as we are busy moving house. Been back to vets and hes booked in for next weekTuesday, vets going to give him a series of xrays. Yes his tail is alot straighter then before it used to curl, we have noticed that. Thanks for the replys.
  2. Hi just thought i would post this topic to see if anyone else has experience or knows anything about this ailment. My three year old saluki greyhound/ whippet dog is having trouble with its back legs . It does not show when walking on the lead but any thing faster his back end seems to go underneath him and he drags his back legs about, also he sometimes has trouble cocking his leg. Its strange as he does not show signs of been in pain at all. I took him to the vet a few weeks ago and he told me to bring him back in a few weeks as he was in no pain, and see if he is any better which he is,n
  3. Black smoke is ussually a fuel problem, white smoke is oil, first off get your ecu reset to get the codes reset in its volatile memory, if your vehicle has a lamber sensor] fitted in the exhaust that will need taking out and cleaning ( brake cleaner in a aerosol is good) as it will be sending faulty readings back to the ecu which could make it over fuel.
  4. Its funny you should say that I was walking home from the pub last weekend and found a portion of fish and chips in the gutter, its amazing what some people will walk by. Not us hunters though eh !
  5. Most of these dicks are just bored youths looking for entertainment. If you ignore them after a while it will probably fizzle out. You can,t relie on the police to help you as most of these lads are cowards and will come back and do something when your out, or will make you look daft by hanging around outside your house and tournting you then run away. I know iv,e been in the same boat myself. If you choose the path of violence be prepared for a visit from the police and loose your gun licence is it worth it? THE CHANCE TO GET EVEN WILL PRESENT ITSELF ONE DARK WINDY NIGHT, WHEN THE GUY WITH T
  6. most lamping batterys are sealed lead acid and are not affected by memory,it sounds like your charger or it could be your battery cells shorting inside (called treeing) often caused on lead acid batterys when it has been left without charging/discharging it for a few months. Hope this helps
  7. I have mine insured through TESCO it costs me £7.40 a month each lurcher.
  8. again its all good advice, foxes are inquisative and will come in to many different calls maybe yours needs to sound more convincing. When they are a bit cagey I allways go back to squeking off the back of my hand. Get out there and get some practice in on other foxes in different places to pollish up your techneque. Sometimes even if everythings right they will still not come in.

    MODs

macca the owner of DTC moved from the arches in leeds to a new shop near hunslett leeds in about 1987 then shut down all together in 1990 ish he sometimes still does the odd job from home. I used to be in a club called harrogate wanderers from 1983 to 1987 then Harrogate scooter club from then till 2001, we all still go to some rallys with family commitments and all, we used to go to on average about 10 rallys a year including the euro rallies. Have still got a gp200 but the seen seems totally different nowadays with people taking kids to rallys and been boring farts. We used too go and get
  13. Seen it alot with unfit dogs or even fit ones after long courses on the fens ,I,am no vet but it ussually clears up within a day. Dogs need to be built up gradually, its like expecting a human to do a marathon after jogging round a field occasionally, dogs may look fit but they have to be built up inside, a human ussually knows when to stop, most dogs will run till they drop!
  14. You can,t buy them anymore mate, the toggles were made by a supplier in Italy. People who sold leads with them on years ago say they would love to get hold of some more. I have two and would never sell them as there the best manufactered leads ever made. Occasionally some appear on eBay so keep your eyes peeled.
  15. Strangly enough have just been thinking about this as my four jills came into season second week in january, the earlest ive ever none it! What with the colder weather coming later to kill off the nettles and rubbish, then rabbits having young earlier the ferreting seasons getting shorter.
  16. ive owned two over the years one was a good allrounder and was keen and alert and was good at what juckler said taking rabbits out of the hedge bottom. If a rabbiting dog can,t do this it is no use to me, as you all know a lot of rabbits on the lamp are taken this way. The second dog was as different again and was given to a pet home at the age of four. In hind sight I would only buy now from someone I know who was breeding a litter to get a pup for themselves from two proven workers. Its a chance working dog owners shouldn,t be prepared to take, and if we all used this ethic then we would hav
  17. Near york mate, i will have to try and get a copy of the dvd also ,cheers
  18. Thanks for the advice!
  19. Hi, been ferreting for many years but never used longnets, bought a 25 yard one from a show over ten years ago and have decided its about time I utilised it. I have set it up in the yard at work on five 30 inch by 1/2 inch fiberglass poles and spread all the slack out between them, but I am unsure about fixing the top and bottom lines to the end pegs. It may sound a daft question but i know bugger all about longnets, any advise from those in the know would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone would be kind enough to give me a practical demo even better as all the dog and ferret work Ive e
  20. I bought a copy 10 years ago at a show for twelve pounds when i did,nt know any better, what a load of crap!, would,nt give £1 for it just full of shite and plummer moaning about his lot. Sold it on ebay for £54 a couple of months ago when i saw what people were paying. Might be one of the only truefull books he,s written as he does,nt mention anything about dogs in it. :11:
  21. When you close your gun you cock the firing pins. When you store your gun if you left it cocked it would put a great strain on the mechanism, so you have to let the pressure off by squeezing the triggers. If you hav,nt got a cartridge in the barrels you will be putting excessive strain on the firing pins as they come forward and reach the end of their travel by the rims of pins hitting the ends of mechanism housing instead of the ends of the pins hitting the cartridge and taking the blow as it compresses the end of it. Snap caps simulate this by using a spring loaded cap. I hope this is usefu
  22. My wife stopped smoking 6years ago she was on zyaban , never had a drag of a fag since
  23. Thats right I think about 20% is about right, i think its the quality of the protien thats more important.
  24. yeah do,nt accept it as you will be agreeing that you were in the wrong, they hav,nt a thing to go on. These gamekeepers think there a law untoo thereselves, treat them to the contempt they deserve. If your walking on a public footpath near these twats again and there shooting nearby report them for shooting over your head and give them a bit of their own medicene!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Stick a t shirt you have worn for a day or so in its bed, I always feed mine on Beta puppy and never had any problems.
