  2. here are some clips of my old bitch. 1/2 jrt and 1/2 ebt, and she was 22 lbs in shape. the bitch was a maniac! www.youtube.com/user/KawValley
  3. really impressive small size on that little guy! Nice hard coat too. I bet he turns out to be a mean little b*****d LOL. URU, I tried to contact you last week, did you receive my email?
  4. I agree, possums are great for building confidence. While I am originally from Kansas, I seldom hunt there. thanks for the info though.
  5. sorry i didnt get back to you sooner sir was in work top lookin bitch good pics what way do you work them is there a season on them or is it an all year job thanks for the compliments. you have a PM
  6. not sure how tall she is, but the bitch is pretty big- about 22 lbs. The above picture is deceptive, because the possum is I guess around 5 lbs. It's a fairly large adult possum for my area. ^Now here's a BIG one!
  7. http://www.youtube.com/user/KawValley#p/a/u/0/JdBICEqrEqk ^ I took this neat clip of my Bull Russell jumping into a hole in a large tree today. ^ She pulled this 'possum out from an old barn today too.
  8. nice dogs man. I especially like the look of rigsby and sookie. hey, clever idea with the wheel and hose too works perfectly I bet
  9. I've never heated or cooled my working dogs, and I think they're better for it. In winter time I use wooden dog houses with relatively small openings and stuff them full of straw. Straw is the warmest bedding, and I've never found any dogcicles yet LOL. Recently I got a dog that appears to have a bit of an allergy to straw (she got little red bumps on her belly when I used it for her bedding) so I switched her to wood shavings and added a windblock and a rubber flap for a door. here's a pic below.
  10. Thanks, I've had her about 6 months. She's nabbed mostly coons and possums and feral cats since I've had her. she's 2 years old now. She just keeps getting better and better. Bitch goes hard, but the best part about her is her locating ability. She has found game nearly every time out
  11. 9 times out of 10 a possum will just ball up and lay still. they are incredibly tough though, and there have been a few times when I thought one was dead only to find it had wandered off later. sometimes they're scrappy, but nothing like a coon- coons are some BAD mofos!
  12. Yesterday I took my Bull X Russell bitch, Darby on a long walk and we ended up at a soccer complex with many outdoor fields. No one was around so I let her off the lead, and before I knew it she took off. the soccer fields are at the edge of town and bordered by pasture and woods, and she was headed for the woods. much to my surprise there were a few silos and old stone foundations right inside the woods. darby was digging at a piece of sheet metal, and when I lifted it up, two mice ran out - and she didn't see either one LOL. a few minutes later Darby was checking near the old foundations in
  13. FFS man,are you suggesting this chap docks the 3 MONTH old pup?? dont listen to this tool, take the pp to your vet pal. Laws are somewhat different in scotland as they are in the states and docking a 3 MONTH old with a 'POSSIBLE' broken tail Calm down, I would only suggest docking as a very last result if the tail had shattered vertebrae, serious infection etc. Nowhere does the original poster say it's a "possible" broken tail. he says it IS broken. Obviously it's not my call- not being able to see the dog, but I would imagine the tail will heal on its own; If the owner would like
  14. tape the tail up with a tongue depresser or dowel rod inside to keep it healing straight. unwrap every few days to check it's not infected etc. If it becomes infected give the dog antibiotics until it's healed. If it becomes REALLY bad- dock it above the break and continue the antibiotics until it has completely healed. I only take my working dogs to the vet when there is a problem I feel I can't handle. If you aren't comfortable fixing it yourself don't hesitate to seek help. good luck
  15. Sounds like a good bitch, and a heck of a lot of digging!
  16. the back of the plate is stamped in black CAULDON with England written smaller underneath. there is also a large stamped black 6. Finally, in red it says L 6742 B the dog sure has some ragged ears. Looks like a worker. I wonder if it's a specific dog or more of a generalization? I think you will find that the ears are pinscher, just like the doberman pinscher, a bit like tail docking but done a few weeks later. all the best on finding out the history of the dog and i would love to hear about it. sure beats my socks n a bottle of old spice!!! Yeah, on the plate, I think the ears
  17. ^the head shape is very similar to my jrt X ebt female. ^ And this bull terrier from 1894
