Haha good one! I still don't get why a guy had to use a 15 lb dog on a 50 lb badger. Does a 50 lb badger not have a large earth??? Surely if a 50-60 lb badger can get around underground a dog in the low 20's could too??? I think if I had 50 lb badgers here I'd use bull X terriers like a "pitter pat" or my bull russell. I think it's super badass that there are little terriers up for the job, but aren't they a bit under gunned? I would have thought the bull and terrier crosses were better suited for that work. I have zero experience with badgers, I'm just curious about the history of the cross.

Those are some bigguns BOB and rc1. Great pics. Rc1, I see your old white bitch in the crate- Looks like she had a time fun that day

Haha no suprise there Those sound like some beasts liamdelaney. Some dog that could hang with one of those bad boys! I imagine you could use a pretty big dog on quarry that size???
-
Wow!

^ here's our biggest yet. Didn't weigh it but I guess it was 30-32... All credit to the bitch, who killed and drew it out of the pile solo. You have much more experience than me BOB; I bet you've seen some bigguns.

...And although I don't hunt more than one dog at a time, the guys that put several down do so out of necessity. Coons are clanish and are often found in family groups. There were plenty of times my one bitch got on a coon and 5 or 6 more escaped. That's why they put down multiple dogs; not so they can gangbang

Most of the folks in the US that keep patts or bulldog X terrier crosses could give a shit about any club. The terriers and crosses are kept out of necessity in the field, and for every big internet terrierman here there are 10 guys you never heard of with harder hunted dogs. And liamdelaney, sms said no coons smaller than 20... As in 20 is small, 40 is big. We have game here like your wildest hunting fantasy! There is no shortage of opportunities to see what a dog is capable of here.

^ My post should start out *a dog* not *Na dog*

Na dog that sticks it out when the going gets tough and enjoys hunting contact more than they dislike the pain/discomfort associated with the hunting contact is going to take more damage than a dog that doesn't stick it out. By the time a dog shows it has heart it is for sure taking damage either from the quarry or from it's own determination to reach the quarry. If you have a "game" dog that hasn't been down and hurt but stayed then you don't have a proven game dog at all. It's a correlation not a causation you meathead haha

A truly game dog will not be capable of working week after week. Their working style will mean they require time to heal. Sending smashed up dogs out time and time again is disrespectful to the little warriors.

"i find they are ok with other dogs but if another dog as much as snaps at them thats it" That would make them NOT ok with other dogs lol

This "socialize your pit bull and it'll be fine with other dogs" thing that's been going around has really got to stop. It makes every soccer mom think they can/should rescue one, and that's exactly what the "breed" doesn't need; A bunch of misinformed half assed bulldog owners. These dogs are not for everyone. They are canine combat athletes and they will get you in the news if aren't 100% prepared to handle them.

Good call on the socialization. Bulldogs just love a scrap whether they are socialized or not. In fact I would say it's a bad idea to try and socialize an bulldog at all- that's an accident waiting to happen. I know there will be some yahoo saying they socialized their bulldog and it gets along fine, but if you had a lab that didn't fetch I'd say that's a poor example of a lab... they crossterriers into bulldogs for the heart and staying power, as well as Bite and finish. The downsides are DA and increased size

"The fox will catch and kill chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, quail, lambs, piglets, guinea pigs (cavies), rabbits, pigeons and even cats. When they get into a coop full of poultry, they will not just kill one, but get into a killing frenzy as the frightened birds flap around. It is not uncommon for one fox to wipe out 100 chickens in a night. They pose a disease risk to your animals as they can carry mange and rabies, and red foxes can get mange. They will also tear open plastic rubbish sacks and create a large mess - they really are vermin." Taken from http://professorchickenspredators.w

I'm curious too. I'd like to see a pic of your pup when you get it. I have a 1/2 cross that I plan on taking back to a russell to get the 3/4, 1/4 cross too. -
