lithium lamping batterys are they any good???????
vld replied to jonny10's topic in Hunting Equipment
mate they are awsome in my opinion,i used to use 2 x 7a lead batteries that were ok an would last me a good night out but i ended up over charging and draining them right down to nil which in turn damages the matrix inside em,the lithium ion batteries have got charge memory an cannot over charge, also the new types have a guage on them to tell you how much juice you have left and ive been out on 3 seperate occasions without charging it and ive never dipped into the red, mine is the 22a which cost a few quid but well woth it,ideal for your size lamp i think mate, few lads on here have had bad exp -
Thanks Lads. Heres a few pics.I'm made up.

Just got in from a last minute wander......was'nt up for it to begin with but glad i went now because my pup caught her first rabbit, was a good run aswell to be fair, the young bunny stood her up on the spot an managed to get around her an to the safety of the hedge only to be bounced back off and picked up on the next strike.them half growns can still make fools out of most dog's at times. Now i know what some of you might say, that i'm a SUMMER HUNTER an tha.............but the way i look at it is my pup is 9 months old and has'nt aquired the the tools that she will need come the win

Likewise - I go and politely ask if I can go on their land. Tell them what my dogs are for, stress that they are stock broken, offer to bring the dogs up so they can see them with the sheep/lambs and tell them which other farmers I have permission with. So far I've not had a knock back. I often give them a ring earlier on in the evening I'm planning to go on their land just to let them know I'm going out there. At Xmas I'll take them a bottle of wine or something as a gestrure and when I catch anything which is a problem on their land I let them know.

stunning looking dogs mate

Heres my two mother an pup.Mainly rabbits.

I do tend to leave them quiet an on their own but when I know they've started I'm checking them every 2 hours to make sure another pup is out, if not its down to the vets. I've only had 3 litters in total . I must have just got unlucky coz 2 out of 3 needed intervention. 1st litter was a dream - left bitch in kitchen quiet and checked on her every couple of hours and no problems at all. 2nd Litter 1 pup out then nothing after 2 hours so straight to vet - big dog pup had got stuck and vet couldn't manipulate it round so C section (no pups lost). 3rd litter was my lurchers and as you kno

Not been to this before but am looking forward to it. Sorry if information has already been given but I couldn't see it on the link - what time does the showing/racing start please and is it on Sat as well as Sun as I'm more likely to go on Sat.

I've often thougth about insuring my lurchers but have never bothered, I've been spoiled until recently when a fantastic vet near me retired Dog 1 - 7.5 yrs old - Vets fees to date £500 C section, £45 stitches in Chest (3 am call out!!), £50 front toe off - total £595 - if insured this would have cost £900 (so £300 up!?) Dog 2 - nearly 3 - £57 for stitches in back of front wrist - insurance during this time would have been £360 Dog 3 - 10 months - not working so doesn't really count - but would have forked out £ in insurance by now. So £1340 in insurance v £652 in actual costs. I

i have been fortunate and unfortunate to be both over the years an the outcome from both scenarios didnt reflect on how i train or work my dogs whatsoever............the only difference i would say is when i was out of work i wasnt coming home to a dirty kennel.

Its had me interested this so did my pup - she's 24tts, then from neck to pin bones 22", with 8" being back and 14" being loin and a 19" tail - hangs 2" off floor when you pull it down straight. It did suprise me that she's taller than longer - one of those visual illusion things!

Sorry for your news mate, but at least you know that surviving pup is going to have the best start. My bitch lost 3 pups when she had a cesarian but luckily 6 survived. Out of interest how old was your bitch and was it her first litter? She was 8 pal and it was her 1st litter but i did ask the vets advice before breeding her as i thought she would be past it but he said she was in good nick and maybe it was not ideal age for her 1st litter but he didnt see a problem occuring, but ive paid the price for the risk if this 1 turns out as good as his dam and sire it'll be worth it be the deares

This is my whip/grey with a dash of deerhound. I rate them and are good for small fields. She's 23" -
I've got 4 - 3 lurchers and 1 JRT. Next season I'll mainly be working the pup and the bull X.

Cracking show today. Well organised and set up. Good trophy's and judging. Like the fact that bulls could only be entered into bull classes too, The weather even stayed reasonably dry -

wierd how this debate has devided people an there views,i have an air rifle that i will use on the odd rat or corvid but i am no shooter, prefer to see dogs in action, even if i catch a rat in a live trap its not 100% dead yet,it gets a 5 second head start from the middle of a small field an then the terrier is loosed,ok only 1 has ever made it to the hedge but thats a rat that deserved it.not bothered if people choose to shoot foxes but it really grips my shit when i hear of hares being shot....does anyone else feel like this,i have bundles of respect for this animal that it upsets me to think
