  1. I would run my dog in all conditions full moon snow filled field no wind all except hard frost frozen ground I would say my bitch has tremendous feet however I would not contemplate running her on frozen ground, were even the softest grass becomes like thorn,Just not worth it for what one or two nights in.
  2. Whats the betting someone will put that over a battered washed up old track grey and be flogging the pups for a mint
  3. Dont Know Stoaty wasnt mine, however they will hunt and course given the opportunity. The first time I took my friend out with his Deerhound he had a dog or should I say monster dog called bad,was about Twenty Years ago on the lamp,we went out on a 2,500 acre arable farm,he watched my dogs run and catch a couple of times before we slipped him on a fox he coursed it not the quickest but he stayed till he caught it,picked it up killed it and retrieved it,suppose You couldnt ask for more,he took some holding back when the dogs were slipped of after that.I t also made him a hell of a lot keener wh
  4. The dog in the photo is My Friends He came and coursed them at the Heart of Wales as a favour to me ,just wanted to show people these majestic animals turning, I have had the pleasure of seeing them work, obviously a dog of this size needs space,He use to course these on hares, all over the uk when it was legal,it wouldnt me my dog of choice on rabbits but they will pick up the odd bunny or two on the lamp on a big field,on other quarry You wont find them lacking They are very deceptive on Fox pre ban of course.
  5. I have to say them Pups are the best proportioned for that age that I have seen in a long time,If they work like they look Penny, which I am sure they will knowing You You will have a pair of crackers there. My Grandfather had an Airedale cross greyhound Forty Years ago swore by it,grew up with the tales of him,he died tumbling a big fox on a cliff edge him and the fox went over both died Ps when You coming down to break them to sheep
  6. Personally I dont see the problem with unfashionable crosses, the bitch I currently run is a first cross German Shepherd Greyhound,I have seen a Lab cross in the field twenty years ago the guy was taking deer regular with it. I would prefer my makeup of lurcher to be worker, be it bedlington bull poodle labrador or collie, rather than an over hyped show pony just because of its breed name. To a sighthound that has also proven itself in the field or on the track
  7. We own and work both Beardie and Border collies The border has a lot more set in it slightly faster tends to use there eyes rather than nose The beardie is fearless will work cattle rams you name he will move it,will also hunt on sent handy if you have lost a sheep in dense woodland, One type of dog is more suited for wide open fields Border, while the other is better around the pens and woodland Beardie.
  8. In my opinion A puppy peddlar is someone who keeps so many dogs, he couldnt possibly walk them properly in the day let alone work them.So why would he keep them to breed them.

  13. It has always been my aim to try and replicate my old lurcher Scooby Bed x Whippet, searched awhile for a good whippet the one I bought was given a fair crack of the whip, but alas I would not have used him at the start of my line as I did not rate him high enough,so he was found a home which suited him a bit of ferreting with some one who has retired. I then acquired a beddy bitch pup she is dynamite just what You want from a beddy,I aint in no hurry but when the right stud dog comes around,I will be looking for a national racing champion, thats all this dog wants adding to it is speed. And th
