  2. the man in question has kept whippets nigh on 20 yrs ,he run lurchers messing . previous to this before the ban on dangerious dog law came in to force he dabbled with pit bulls. but that his another story , toby sooty sam was the starting line of his whipps he inbred this dog far to close . i have seen dogs out of this line with blue mutant dermatitus one of the reasons this can come about his breeding blue to blue to blue and by inbreeding , also this his a malady ,bull breeds are prone two. the outcrosses he eventually realised he at to do was back show stock which increased sizegot rid
  3. most people who breed pedigree dog at that rate of nots, usually make there own affixwith the kennel club but you see so and so whipps are just like the next man witn whipps . he needed a selling point and he abused , the great name of the laguna kennels i suppose if toby was moonlake nimrodell barmoll or any other we would have not been where we are today.the mans a champion peddlar ,who has the gall to portray his stock with the ral genuine stock hes no different thansomebody on a sunday stall selling pirate copies . and yes these work but theyre not the real deal.
  4. ps paddybar ask yourself this ,he breeds rabbiting dogsso why jump on the laguna affix could of quite easily put them up has rabbiting whipps from the beging he deliberately mislead people not in the no.coupled with the luck of the hunting ban well the rest his history
  5. lets say this not counting the registered ones , he wont have aclue himself. he couldint honestly tell you , theres one thing for sure breeding indiscriminatelylike he has ,wont have done the breed any good. bit of a lurcherman seen a neech in the market this has got the man fame ,but forall the wrong reasons
  6. what c his saying here his fact ,many have been took in by the clever buisnes head of . to late now a decade later the mans bred and sold hundreds of puppies and not all of them at his pl,,ace either , the laguna affix ,was poached up on in a very clever manner much in the same way has the minshaw lurcher brand name his now going through ,by some unscrupulous breeders.theres not a cat in hells chance the man was going to show his face in public where it mattered in the field. he now shows himself at the yearly working whippet show galas , and yes he put his own stuff up , the mans got balls o
  7. i have a long time friend who his a proffessional grey trainer ,keeping up to 130 hounds these dogs by sheer volume are fed complete diets .the meals he uses are gain 28 high protein austrolian fomula 30 protein when resting gain 20 plus all the other breakfast cereals ,these dogs perform week in week out on protein diets not carb based diets these dogs alone would suffer physically on low based protein diets unless being rested . ps and yes they hit top speeds , head banger .
  8. hi gareth keep the pup on 3 meals for now, flesh bone tripe chicken mince lambs necks brown bread and if one his concerned the dog may miss some vitamin etc keepers mix will provide those . but a good natural diet with the odd bit of veg etc , his a much more natural diet plus the dog will grow steadily, not to quick which can happen on high protein complete mixes ,spongy bone canbe a cause of growing to quickly . say 30% protein like in most brand puppy meals , every meal his excessive . natural flesh bone etc vary from red to white flesh offal etc . Plus the dog will have the sparkle only n

  11. very wll said and very true ,halty bud this his the feeding regime i use and have don e for decades. all the best bunnys.
  12. Sounds good to me that. I feed my dogs as close to a natural diet as possible, eg: animals etc(BARF bone and raw), plus bits and pieces from the kitchen to add a bit extra in the way of leftover cooked veg etc. In the earlier years of dried complete feed, I did try some of the better makes, but found that the dogs were slowly wasting away with daily work and often needed rest days. I ocaisionally add warm water in very cold weather, not sure why, but probably just feel that they will benefit as it will help keep their bodies warmer. The main thing ive found over the years is that fe
  13. ps one other instance i may add take a look at the nomadic tribes from the north flesh seal meat rich in fats , some of these animals are expected towork all day pulling weights , constantly feding dogs grain over ganeration after generation his not the natural diet for canines .
  14. PROOF IN THE PUDDING CERTAINLY ,but running a pack of hound 3,4 times a week winter time need flesh to get the best from them . flesh stays on a dog ,they get all they need from the fats supplied from flesh carcass flesh fats bone the lot ,are by far the best form of diets a working type dog needs carb modern diets ,are fine for convenience ,i suppose20 30 miles covered per day depending on whay type of pack and type of land they cover in winter conditions flesh diets rain supreme.all the best bunnys
  15. hi there mate ,dont want to offend you but who ever or should i say what makes you think yapping his not in any way inherited . believe me just has a dog inherits coat colour type etc i think you will find this his inherited , the breed type here does produce consistent yappers not all strains but lots do.you may be able to rectify the majority of it, but it will pop up now and again when the dog his under pressure .good luck mate , with ya dog , and has you say it dont matter to you if the dogs a bit noisy . all the best bunnys
  16. brain can be looked at in several ways biddable ,working brain , for that type of specific cross. myself i prefer the working brain with the right dogs being biddable his part and parcel of the said dog .marvellous how nature produces really bright biddable and quick thinking dogs from several generations of workers ,each generation seems to get smarter and , if the best to best breeding policy has been followed better in the field myself when i kept the lurcher dog ,would allways opt for something bred fromseveral generations of lurchers to lurchers . ONE of my favourite crosses was the al
  17. PS you have a very good point there wurzil, youth keeness coupled with the right animal sometimes it may be nothing spectacular bred on paper ,but time spent in the woods fields etc can and does get ya the best dogs .man and dog has one , yes i have seen this on more than one occasion , dogs are like people a gem comes along every now and then . good luck bunnys
  18. To my mind a lucher capable of taking all edible game day and night needs the physical and mental, attributes to acheive this . has flint says not amaster of any one discipline but capable on all edible game , dogs of this calibre do exist they usually excell on one given species but take the full spectrum of game to be had .rabbit hare deer feathered game. to much emphsis hi taken on dogs about what a all rounder his ,beleive me if you posessa animal that can take game in reasonable numbers on any terrain, it to me justifies the title all rounder ,cherio folks bunnys
