  1. Don't think any other race can be lawfully charged with racism but white people. Atb j
  2. Its fair enough. No impact on the lads trying to make a living, plus you have plenty of time to stock the freezer Atb j
  3. https://www.sfpa.ie/Who-We-Are/News/Details/new-laws-for-lobster-and-crab-fishing There you go king. Laws just for non commercial fishing. It's changed a bit in the last four years, but still fair enough. Atb j
  4. Wrass is readily eaten here, sweet when fresh, just as nice salted. Atb j
  5. This lad is just down the road from me. He has some set up on very little ground. One acre. Atb j
  6. Very interesting. Really enjoyed watching this . I started to look into the food citizenship wilf. Only a small bit sofar, but good So far. Atb j
  7. Might not get back to simpler times again, but there's so much our countries can provide for us, and help out local and national food industries. Also it would be great if people were encouraged to grow there own fruit and veg, just a small bit, what they can. And more allotments opened up. It would take a small bit of pressure of the farm lands. Plus then you could swap and barter between each other. Atb j
  8. Do you keep ducks wilf 2.50 for a duck egg and 4.50 for a goose egg here. The less officials know the better. Atb j
  9. And that my point. Only take what you need. I could spent all day every day out at sea, but why bother. A few days a year see me right for what I need. Pity it wasn't like that, sell your catch, beef lamb veg locally for a fair price. But that won't happen. To many rules and regulations. Plus the tac man wants his cut Atb j
  10. It's common sence. Look after what nature had given us, and she will look after us. Raping poisoning and destroying will not end will for anything or anyone. Greed is a terrible thing Atb j
  11. Your right. All the fish we caught/catch goes straight out of the country. But people here aren't will to spent 30 euro a kilo for a cod dinner, or 15 euro a kilo for pollock. I think it's 30 euro a kilo for lobster, where's we only get 12, or 12.50. The price has to come down in the shops for the people as well. Atb j
  12. True kd, I am reading to much rubbish. Long wet eveing, bugger all else to do, still no excuse. Atb j
  13. You can fish a certain amount of pots, for your own use, table, as long as your not selling them commercially. Yeah it is frustrating when you can't get out, but worse still, been out there and not catching anything. The inshore fishing grounds where i am are disseminated, raped, nearly wiped out. All down to greed, and not looking after the grounds and stock. Their fishing all year round now. Sure nothing in nature could stand that harvesting. I have cousins further down the coast. They don't fish any pots until March till Sept. They notch, don't take females with berries an
  14. Already iv been told of three different vans going around trying to pick up dogs this week. It's like their made of smoke, they just disappear when the cops arrive. Atb j
  15. Angling isn't my thing really. I find it boring to be honest, but that's me. I get out regular at pots or jigging dredging with family members. I'd love nothing more to work my own boat, but the cost of setting up is unbelievable, but I'm very fortunate to be able to head out any day I can. A lot of people have a romantic view of fishing for a living, dont get me wrong it's great way of life, but like most jobs hard work, you do earn your wages. Atb j
  16. The below are a family travelling over from England nearly every day to steal dogs from Ireland. They are the lowest of the low filthy scumbags. They are Billy and Margaret Cassidy and their daughter Charlotte Cassidy. They have been spotted, photographed and reported to the police and animal welfare groups numerous times. They are coming over in a variety of different vehicles. They will steal, drug, glue muzzles to their faces and try to sell them. If they don't sell they either use them for bait in dog fights or dump them. Please be vigilant and mind your dogs Please share so their f
  17. Excalty, or the needy. Fish is expensive enough to buy, without each boat dumping tonnes of it each year. That fella Hugh farrnely wittingstall (spelling) did a good programme in this subject Atb j
  18. Stupid laws. If the boats could land their by catch, no needless waste of fish, less time at sea, less time out in bad weather, less risk, less running cost, a bit more money all round. Atb j
