    Friends

It's hard to test how good a friend is until the time comes, the few times I've needed someone to help a couple of friends have came through for me when I've needed them to, and I hope the same can be said of me. There are only a small handful I'd ever confide in and ask for help if needed, and I know they would never let me down.. there are loads I enjoy their company, have a laugh and easily get on with.. different type of relationships.
  2. Yeah it's brilliant.. all his Ex missus seem to still genuinely like him, madness considering he was sky high pretty much all his life! Him, Sean Penn and Nicholas Cage would've been some night out!! lol
  3. Picked by me then the wife done her bit... it was bloody lovely... pear tarte-tatin
  4. Thanks mate... california is loosely our final place to visit, pick a truck up from Miami Airport and slowly make our way across to San Diego airport to fly home
  5. After thr 27th Dec we have mate, be with the family for the first 10 days, then it's just me and the wife getting lost lol
  6. All booked now, we fly on 16th December, really looking forward to this trip now.
  7. Sometimes the simple things in life are the best
  8. A man after my own heart! Lol
  9. I have noticed in the health industry Indians seem to be very well qualified and hold high profile jobs, I think there is perhaps a cultural/family demand on the 2nd generation children in the UK of Indian families on education. Might be way off the mark and not looked at any google stats etc, just from what I've seen. I'm pretty sure the Chinese are very hot on education as well, perhaps that's why in the main Chinese and Indians have integrated better into Western culture?
  10. That's my kind of inclusion right there
  11. Good points mate. In London hospital there were a lot of black/African nurses, the main surgeon was Indian (I think), now he was great, the main consultant/professor in St Marks was an English woman, top of the tree in her field, extremely bright, endearing an absolute professional who solved so many issues, concerns etc with her manner and absolute knowledge.. main consultant/professor in St Thomas older Englishman, just an amazing man who's entourage hung on his every word.. Our local hospital main consultant an Indian (again I think as guessing), I'd say him and my wife have a real f
  12. And thats why our own NHS is f****d and reliant on overseas workers... by far the best nurses we encountered were foreign, Fillipino's and Thais were lovely.. I agree with your view of invest in our own, it is the correct way, but most of our own will take their skills elsewhere for more money and better conditions... The whole lot needs a complete over haul.. you simply could not chuck out the foreign worker and replace, it is a long project and a pretty daunting task to be honest
  13. You're right there mate, amongst some very bad experiences we have had some amazing care and "proper" nursing at times, there are wards in our hospital that my wife will not go on, if she is have any procedure she will state that she will not go on one of these wards, the care from ward to ward is so different. The problem we have found is the difference in knowledge, experience specific to the illness from our local hospital to teh hospitals we have been to in London, it is like night and day.... I would say St Thomas hospital was very dated in its look, the wards etc..but by god that bl
  14. Yeah so do I, I'm just interested in the thought process behind the conspiracy. Scotty hasn't really said what he thinks, just put a slow motion video up and said "for the slow ones", I'm certainly a slow one as I can't join the dots as to who, why and see anything other than a bloke being shot and bleeding out?
  15. So is the conspiracy he is still alive somewhere? The slow motion video stops before the blood begins to flow, the video in real time I saw has blood gushing out, is that fake blood? Who would want this faked and why? What about the lad arrested, fake news? a set up stooge? Is he in on the conspiracy? Sorry I'm one of the slow ones when it comes to these conspiracy theories, I get the "don't believe all you see" rhetoric, ...but... well this one looked pretty real to me and would be some cover up job to keep anything else than him being shot and killed quiet.
  16. First I hope your wife gets the care needed abd makes a full recovery mate.. Secondly, I know your pain only too well.. My wife has had some terrible times in the system over the past 15 years, too many to list and some I still can't believe...one being a nurse putting the wrong blood type up for a transfusion, luckily my wife knows her type and argued., refusing her to administer the blood (which could of killed her), and eventually a senior nurse got the correct blood along with a lot of grovelling ... we've spent a lot of time travelling to London (St Marks) as it offered the best ca
  17. Left over pork, mash, veg and gravy.
  18. So what's being suggested here? Is there suggestions he's not dead and it's a hoax of some sort? Or just questioning the way the bullet travelled/hit? Sorry if I'm being thick but I'm not up on all the conspiracy theories.
  19. Don't worry I definitely won't, I'll change my surname as well lol
  20. Paris is f***ing awful in places! When the Killers released their first album, Hot Fuss, a chap that was managing our little band at the time got me an Marie tickets for a real small, intimate Killers gig in the outskirst of Paris, like the music and arts quarter (can't remember the name of it). Anyway we stayed close by and a few miles out of the city centre, f**k me what a complete and utter jungle of a place... Marie was doing her usual 2 hour make up session so I f****d off for a pint whilst I waited for her, it's the most uneasy I've ever felt in any city, you know the looks, the vi
  21. I haven't mate, spent all my time in the South as a lad and young man as our family was close to Dundalk (that was an interesting night out back then!! lol). Will definitely visit Belfast though as it's been recommended a few times now.
  22. Got say that's pretty much bang on, Rome, Paris, New York, London are disgusting in certain areas... loads of other places too, but the Western worlds main cities are changed forever, no doubt about it... I said after we visited Tokyo what a place, absolutely spotless and we travelled as far and wide as we could on the rail network over the 6 days we were there, it felt good there, vibrant but polite, 90% of the people we interacted with were Japanese, the rest Aussies, Americans and Brits.. the suburbs were so clean it was un real, we travelled on the train to Mount Fuji through lots of
  23. Me too mate, I've been to both a fair few times and worked just outside Manchester for a couple of months, for me Liverpool is friendlier and I've enjoyed some great nights out there. Funny enough stayed just outside Toxteth one time and drank in a pub called the Black Swan (I think), looked a right dive but as with a lot of places treat the locals right and in no time we had a good laugh and was well recieved. I think the whole areas of cities being taken over by Asians and other immigrants are beyond repair to be honest, it's been a conversation for at least 30 years, first time I was
  24. Yeah i love Liverpool, was up a while back, met friends we made through hosting them down in here in the cottage.. top people and had a great day and night with them being shown places we'd never know about...never had a bad time in Liverpool, one of my favourite cities to be honest
