Wanted Whippet Hound Bitch Wanted To Be Lined With Bedlington
brenner replied to brenner's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
To be honest he is only a young dog at 12 month mark . In a perfect situation i would wait til end of nxt season and test him on teeth. Before i take a breed from him But i have a gap in my crew that needs to be filled and although i havnt seen this dogs full potential yet , id be still very happy with what ive seen so far in regards to a cross for good rabbit dogs . Forgot to mention, he is a plessure to own, he is laid back and quite in kennels but an anti christ when hunting -
Im on the look out for a good whippet hound to put my bedlington over. I reckon he is the right type of dog to put to a whippet hound to make good little rabbiting dogs. His parents were both worked to ground . He has a bit of leg to him, good coat, feet, drive through the roof. Smashes the cover and is mute when chasing rabbits. He has good nose on him aswell. truth be told he has nevee seen the sharp end of a fox so im not trying to tout him as a cross for a serious fox dog but im sure he has alot to offer the right bitch to put out good rabbiting dogs. If anyone has a good bitch to

For Sale Genuine 1st cross bedlington greyhound pups
brenner replied to ShaneShamusCarson's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
I would really like to see a pic of any of the pups. Ide be interested to see what sort of shape their taking. -
Could be as simple as stress. Its common for pups to shit a little blood even for a few days when u first bring them home due to stress of the new surroundings and maybe a change in diet. Its the lining of the stomach or intestines ( i cant remember which) thats poducing bloody mucous and needs no treatment but time. if the dog has only recently gone to your grandas, i would put it down to stress of the move but if the dog is in a bad way, i wouldnt hang around

I know this topic is aimed at beddies used for earth work but for what its worth.. I got this pup a couple of months back just for bushing. When i spoke to the lad that was selling the pups he told me that the parents were both working to ground but to be honest i was half thinkin to myself, from what ive heard about the availability of working beddies " yeh right pal, pull the other one " But i wasnt pushed cause i just wanted a terrier for pushin stuff out of cover and by the looks of the pics of parents they looked like they definetly belonged in a field and not in a show ring so that

to be honest she is not gonna make a tall bitch i would guess she would make close to 17. Hope you can make out ped of sire. His name is london lads foxer on ped but there was a mix up of peds whend dog was sent over and that ped was for another lad but its ped for a bellie brother

well bred 5 month beddy whippet bitch broke to ferrets and 100 percent on recall .has had her shots and is well wormed. sire is whippet bred by mike brown, dam is beddy brought in from whales from working parents. have copy of ped for both dam and sire. euro no offers, crackin little bitch , should make a good little day time bitch. reason for selling is a change working arrangements after new year . smashin lookin animals. considering you work both beddyxwhippet and lurcher, can i ask a genuine question ? do you think your lurcher would have better success than your beddy whip on the type of heavily covered land ive described for day time a couple of posts before this or other way round ?
-
just reading through old threads , thought id add to this one. i think the ground i walk daytime, regularly is one perfect exsample for using beddy whippet rather than a full whippet or other lurcher. its all real close quarters hunting, there is no real great distance between the cover. ive rairly seen lurchers catch on the regular in this spot but its walkin distance from home and theres only so much time in the day when your workin so i kinda suffer it on the week days, what im getting at is, i have a lurcher already that has the makings of an all rounder, lamping/ferreting/ and maybe f

was in two minds on weather to get a spaniel or a terrier for bushing to lurchers. ive used terriers before and between mine and me mates i found very little room for improvement, the only draw back being the terriers going to ground when you dont want them to and some being too independent to stay around you . and the fact that a few weeks ago i lost a little terrier bitch to this soured me a bit, so spaniel it was [working bred] . have to be honest, i never even gave spaniels a second look and have no experience with them{only what i read just before getting one} so to me getting a spaniel

app. the feedback lads. and while im askin questions heres another.. has anyone had or know of anyone thats had success in encouraging a spaniel to give voice when flushing. eg. by letting the spaniel chase rabbit after rabbit out in the open that hes never gonna catch in the hope he starts to yap after it and develop the habit full time?
