  1. I know that mate but surely there would've been a better breed than dalmations?
  2. Why on earth was dalmation blood bred into these dogs phil, many dog breeds have a natural affinity with horses? I know the early dogs would've been a far cry from the modern dogs, but I personally can't see what they would bring to the type over different tougher breeds that were just as good with horses. Similarly, I could say the same as to the 'supposed' dalmation blood in the english bull terrier, why?! Not a dig at you, or your research etc, it's just baffling why dalmation blood was used in the creation of those two breeds ?
  3. kin el bill, you've just consigned me to some more herding dog information work! Lol good job I have an interest in pastoral type dogs lol ?
  4. Was just being a tad contentios mate, in a jocular fashion lol ?
  5. Early minshaws were just mongrel lurcher, for want of a better term, bred to mongrel lurcher, with the odd collie/grey bred in weren't they? Don't think there'd be any mastiff in there though. Bull/grey yes, but not mastiff
  6. Wasn't there some mastiff blood in the original kelpie bitch? Those old scottish shepherds were keen on adding it for extra drve, so I've been told ? ?
  7. Read the same article myself. And they're called kelpies cos that was the name of one these collie type's dam ?. I've read a few of these articles the last few months, very interesting info
  8. Looks like she's shaping up nicely sandy ?
  9. Yep, can see the mastiff in her easily ??
  10. Doesn't get on with my 12 week old wheaten/bull/grey
  11. Aye, butterbean got mastiff blood in him too ??
  12. Look fellas, I'm not saying it definitely didn't happen. Just that I can't find any evidence of it, anywhere I've looked. If you can put up some actual evidence of it, links, articles, anything, then fair enough ?
  13. Talking about dogs not cars blacky
  14. I don't believe, nor can I find evidence of mastiff blood ever being used in the creation of the german shepherd dog. I obviously know that all breeds have their different foundation lines, within certain breeds etc, like herding stock of 'no definite type' in the case of gsd's. But can find no evidence of mastiif blood ever being used
  15. What mastiff blood, and when was it introduced into the breeding lines of the gsd, sensei bill? ?
  16. Yes I know mate lol, was just having a laugh lol ?. To be honest, unless someone is ultra keen on collies and just collie/greys, I think most of us are the same, a drop of collie here and there is enough. Throw a pic up of your pup, little cracker that ?
  17. You'll burn in hell!! ? ............. ??
  18. Kin el phil, what you doing putting pics like that up?! You'll have poxon in a meltdown!! Lol
  19. Going off that pic bill, it looks like it's got crap feet. Any bull blood in it?
  20. I'm not disagreeing on the strength aspect. And men are far more mentally equipped to deal with war, aggression, violence etc. If women were just as, or better, mentally equipped, the british armed forces etc would be full of women being sent into conflict than men, but they aint and never will be.
