Hmmmmmmm......so what your saying is if you've put in hours and hours on your dog and got it trained to a high standard and the dog just decides 1 day to say "f**k you, i'm doing it my way today" you cant hit the dog because its not the dogs fault its the owners........please explain that 1 too me please?... what i call a highly trained dog is one where i know whats going on in his mind , i know what motivates him, and i know his distractions, at no stage does a kick in the arse come into my thinking, it wont help me solve any problem i have between him and i, hope that helps,, Our

I disagree that no dog needs to be hit, BUT i mean some form of physical correction, not a beating as the owner has lost control. Some dogs have an amazing drive and hard temperament and can ignore a correction, for others a physical correction is totally inappropriate. And in not talking about most dogs, i bred and worked imported shepherds and if you were inclined you could of beaten them with a lorry axle and they would wag there tails and say "and"??? Spot on simo........i've noticed with the labs that dogs are more inclined to take what they get and still be right by your side no pro

To be honest i was talking about when the dog is fully trained, should have stated that.... When training i try to be less physical with them for the reasons you have mentioned. But when you have a fully trained dog just acting up then you have to disipline it.....imo..
