If i am reading your post correct, you talk about calls for LAMP SHY foxes... If the fox is lamp shy its the light that it associates DANGER with, so it wont matter which call you use, it will be long gone when it sees the light flashing around.
-
Well had planned to go out with the lamp and rifle tonight, but we have had BLIZZARD conditions here all evening around 6 - 8 inches of lying snow, so there will be much much more upon the hills. Anyone else got any, apart from Scotland as i think most of the country has falling snow !!!

I agree with your comment 100%,but as we all know, deer stalking is big bucks (no pun intended MONEY), so most deer are shot for sport on big estates, so if deer are causing trouble with crops... kill 2 birds with one stone Shoot the deer but get paid from someone to let them do it, thats the way it works, unless you have private land which you have permission to shoot deer, even when they are having a cull to maintain the health of the heard, they normally have set days for stalking for the paying punter, the keeper or stalker is always tere and he will tell you which one to take. -

Out shopping like your mrs, 1 less fox this year and 1/2doz less for next season (starved) never understood killing next years sport. sport being the operative word not very sportring them Fecking rifle men Don't get me wrong I will be taking my terrier pups out cubbing, but in a few more weeks or so, so the sport has a sporting chance. Any way rant over and it does look like a nice clean shot from 8o yards out mate All the best JDP FOX CONTROL... is not a sport...Its called VERMIN CONTROL ie lambing time all over the country, young pheasants not to far away, Riflemen sh -

We had the same situation at the chicken farm last week, Jamie twisted his ankle trying to get through the bog and we had to give up in the end! No problem with the NV I will clear up your loose ends lol! YOU ARE SO KIND !!! Its most likely one thats came over from the chicken farm, that you have missed it will be a good night for you though you might learn a few tricks. LOL

Anything over 300 yds is foolish taking a shot, regularly i shoot foxes 200+, at this time of the year FOXES are not stupid they have heard and seen it all, but if you have ranged strategic points on your permissions you have a fairly good idea how far charlie is away, my best ever was 365yds, more luck than skill i must admit.

GOOD LUCK... bettter being safe than sorry, i have one farm (a big one)where i have shot all the known foxes, even over the cold snap dead ewes in fields were never touched, so the farmer is well chuffed as he hasnt seen any going about, but told him today to be vigilant as Foxy Boy will return once he gets a whiff of new born lambs. -

NOT SURE YET AS I AM THINKING OF DRILLING A HOLE IN ROOF OF TRUCK... it would be similar to the 1st link except its not a 240 blitz set up. cheers all murphymax Is it a hand held 170 or remote mounted? How much are you looking for it? Jos There is 4 lamps and they are all hand held, 3 @ £65 posted, brand new one is £ posted, the hand held lamp is the best to go wit the suction base and remote handle as they can be fitted to the remote handle with an adapter which all 4 lamps have, its very easy to unsc

murphymax replied to langouroux's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
HIS words.... Foxs usually mate late november, december time, they carry for 53 days , so cubs can easily be 6 or 7 weeks old by now. THIS IS WRONG...FOXES DONT USUALLY MATE LATE NOVEMBER EARLY DECEMBER TIME Breeding Biology: : In the UK, the breeding season for Red foxes runs from late December to February FACT FACT FACT -

WRONG WRONG WRONG !!! Breeding Biology: In the UK, the breeding season for Red foxes runs from late December to February and the female’s receptive period is short: between one and three days. Vixens begin looking for breeding dens in early February, which will be occupied until at least June. The earth will often have more than one entrance/exit, face south and have a good view - a vixen may dig her own earth or expand an abandoned one. During the mating season, courting foxes may -- although not necessarily -- travel and hunt together for about three weeks; towards the end of the -

TO SAVE ALL THE HASSLE.... as you know of 3 litters above ground get a picture of them with a newspaper in one hand and get the cubs in the background. WONT BE THAT HARD.... 110% NO CUBS above ground moving about in hedgerows in and around Lothian & Borders i see no reason to doubt that donny c has cubs in his areas, why would i?? he has some valuble input into some threads on here. i'm sure he has little need to provide proof to any of us. i find it very likely that there are also foxes knocking around(cubs) in most areas which we have not seen/do not know of. the studie
