  1. Really cracking looking dog pal similar looking to mine but mine is wheaten/bull/greyhound and my bitch is 5/8 greyhound 3/8 wheaten but shes got the wheaten coat, you cant beat a wheaten or bull cross for gameness and drive
  2. Nice strong looking dog mate, has it got bull in it some where ??
  3. I did have them when i was a young lad that would do it and yeah alot of them gave up and received some nasty bites but the old fella that used to do it they never seemed to take any punishment and could move them real quick and would occasionaly kill them obviously this was 20 odd years ago i just wondered if any 1 still used ferrets for this as it seems alot quicker with smokers i do ferret a few times a year as dogs take up most of my time, but i was out over the xmas hols with a digging freind of mines nephew ferreting at the back of an open pig farm and we bolted a few and yeah i grabbed
  4. Just a quick one as ferreting is not my main field sport i prefer terriers and lurchers and hounds, but as most people do i started of with ferreting when i was a young lad and still do on the odd time now, but when were younger we used to ferret rats on a couple of allotments with an old chap and they worked them well, so do any of you ferret rats or have a strain of ratting ferrets ??
  5. I was actualy interested as i am looking to start a new pack, but i have to say i am dubious about all the owners this dog seems to of had.
  6. Bargain that including p+p wish i had seen that friday
  7. The best pot fillers ive seen and that is pot fillers not allrounders etc etc have got to be collie crosses on the 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie mix and i say that compleatly neutral as i dont run that cross and i am not a huge fan of them but as pot fillers they take some beating theres plenty other crosses out there that are good but i just think colle crosses are more consistent in that department
  8. I think every ones opinion of an allrounder is different from what i am picking up from this debate.
  9. Am sorry mate but i disagree with you they cant learn to cope when its not phisicaly possible how does a little dog cope with deer and fox (pre ban)how does it cope at the end of a dig (pre ban) its just not possible for it to learn to cope they may be game and try to tackle larger quarry but there just gonna get hurt and there not suited to it,how many of us have gone out (pre ban) with a little lurcher shone the lamp on to have deer or a large dog fox sat there and wished we had a larger dog ?? how many of us have been for a mooch and a hare to get up only to watch it compleatly leave a smal
  10. Whats the body work like ?? have you any pics ?? and is it a new engine that seems really low miles for that age ??
  11. Whys what i said a robot,i never said it had to be a world beater i said it had to be capable of doing the lot my lurchers are not robots but they do what i said i expected, well one does as the other was stolen, size is a factor on an all rounder so is running ability whats the point in keeping a dog in your kennels that cant perform a certain task ie you cant run that its to big,or you cant run that its to fast or you cant take it out with the terriers as its not up to the task at the end, theres other points i could give, at the end of the day a dog is what suits you and the type of hunting a
  12. What a load of balls some dogs cant do the job because of size etc FACT to me an all round lurcher is a dog that can do everything it does not have to be a world beater but can occasionaly do the lot hows a small dog gonna cope with fox,or deer it aint hows a heavy first cross gonna cope with hare and fast jinking rabbits they are not are they, hows the great tall crosses gonna fair in comparison to smallers dogs for rabbits ferreting and general mouching bushing etc an all round lurcher to me is a dog of medium size not over heavy what is capable of taking the quarry it sees when the oppertun
  13. No they cant do anything special that other crosses cant do,and theres to many people out there putting the wrong type of bedlington in them and ive yet to see a bedlington cross that would draw or take flak when working with terriers there probably is some out there but i wouldnt bother with the cross
  14. Great action shots pal, caught them just right something ive never been able to do
  15. 5 8ths 3 8ths or if you want it in percentage 62.5% greyhound 37.5% bull lol
  16. Whats that dogs name pal it looks familiar ??
  17. You might be better putting a price on her pal, i cant imagine any one wanting to swop an already working dog for a pup and have to start again themselves but good luck with it hope it finds another home
  18. You gotta love those wheatens what ever there cross
  19. A bloke i know has 1 pal and ive been out with it on the odd occasion and its a decent dog its 3/4 laguna whippet 1/4 wheaten i belive, it stands about 21" and it will face anything and give its all no matter what its doing, i also found it to be a quiet, biddable, and an all round nice little dog.
  20. Think leeview put it spot on mate, could be hes trying to get rid of a problem dog but the dog is free and of the right age give it a go but if it fails dont sell it on as a world beater theres to many of them doing that already best of luck with it mate you never know your luck it might turn out a little stomper.
  21. How old is the bitch,i would put good money on that bitch originating at some point from some one i know in nottingham they all threw exactly to that stamp and they were a mix of nuttall/wheeler find out if it came from a bitch called smash or poppy and i always found this stamp of dog what this bloke bred were slow starters but were real hard crunchers and could often kill to ground quite quick,we had a few long digs with them and when we broke through there quarry was long dead they were never my cup of tea as ive always stuck to my type but they were hard dogs none the less.
  22. I know some lads that were breeding an exact type to that, and i had 1 in my kennels a few years ago it was nuttall/wheeler its an exact stamp to that red bitch i had in mine do you know any dogs names shes from and where did you get it from ??
