  1. Well I've had a 250 own. .222 and a .223 had a .243 about to have another and own a .25-06 The issue I have is you once again come on a thread with some bullshit you have googled or found on YouTube which is invariably us made or written and of no relevance to uk shooting and start to claim what is best get out use these guns and make a truly informed opinion folks might just start to respect your opinion then.
  2. Have you owned of used one?or for that any of the others?
  3. So to be clear a keeper has the right to arrest and detain a suspecthttp://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo4/9/69/section/2 Yes under certain very limited circumstances, I would love to come out with you one night and apprehend some poachers and threaten them with transportation for seven years brilliant. If I thought I could get transported to Australia for poaching I'd hand myself in lol

I use a online company that delivers the next day, so I only have the ball-ache of driving to the RFD once in a blue moon to stock up on primers. Happy days. Reloading solutions ? Used them lots cracking service

  6. Expanding bullets cannot be sent mail order and sect 35 of the vcr means that primers can only be sold face to face and on production of an fac
  7. Well all I will add to that is the only one I've not owned from that list is 220swift I still own 3 of them and have a variation in progress (if this damned monitored alarm ever gets fitted) for another 243 for the kids. I don't agree the 250 is the best but then that's only based on real time experience and not comparing charts.

  9. Just to be pedantic but I should imagine he is using expanding ammunition which is sect 5 not sect 1
  10. under the Game Act and the Night Poaching Act, he is. A specific power of arrest is conferred upon, among other roles, the gamekeeper, to enable him to require the offender to quit the land and give him his name and address. If the person so required refuses, it is technically lawful for the gamekeeper and anyone acting on his order to apprehend the offender and convey him as soon as conveniently possible before a justice of the peace provided that no person so detained shall be detained for longer than 12 hours. Any longer than this, the person must be released. In practical terms, the gamek
  11. You might want to look up on what authority a keeper has mate cause as it stands you are wrong. http://www.cumbria.police.uk/Admin/uploads/attachment/images/Advice_and_Info/Buttons/Wildlife_Crime/Wildlife_Crime_Documents/Poaching.pdf

  15. I'm sure you know that .243 is the minimum legal caliber for deer but so many other things to consider like the distances you re looking to shoot at given the vastly different trajectory of a .243 v .308. Added to that the type of quarry you are looking to shoot. But if wild boar is something you are looking to hunt then 30-06 sounds plausible but good luck getting a ticket for that! Actually .243 is not the legal minimum, on large deer, it is .240. technically correct but rather pedantic.. .243 is the normal calibre most would use IMHO Not pedantic at all, and no technically about it,
